Hello! I'm Mike, a DM of intermediate experience, trying to develop something new and interesting in a familiar way. I'm searching for  two players  to fill a party of five for a  FREE, TEXT-ONLY  home-brewed campaign in a setting similar to the Underdark, starting at first level. The sessions will be run once weekly on  Mondays at 7 PM EST, starting April 27th, lasting about three+ hours each. Applications close at midnight on Monday, April 20th. I aim for a balance of equal parts combat, puzzle solving, role playing, and story telling, with an emphasis on  character development.  The ratio of combat to role playing, etc. is of course subject to change depending on the party's needs, but the player characters and their interactions with my world are of the utmost importance to me. I am looking for folks who are interested in immersion and story telling. If you are less interested in player character immersion and developing a story with me, then this is not the campaign for you. Please note: The game will contain mature themes! There will be a lot of humor and lightheartedness, but it will be dramatic, serious and downright grim in all the right parts. If you are interested, please fill out the application as follows! Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Timezone: D&D Experience:  Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): Why should I consider you over other applicants?: (Optional) Character ideas?:
Hello! I'm Patrícia, a 27 years old brazilian who would love to join your campaign. Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Maya Timezone: BRT (Brazil Time; UTC-3) D&D Experience: I've been following Critical Role for years and I'm currently playing my first online campaign. Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): I expect an interesting ans immersive game, with lots of lore, role playing and interactions. Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): I won't tolerate my group raping. Mindless and inconsequential killing and looting would be hard pass for me. Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): I like story telling and character development the most. Why should I consider you over other applicants?: Although I don't have much experience actually playing, I have knowledge about how the game works. I really love DND, but never had any friends who shared that interest, or opportunity to play it until quite recently. I will be a respectful, interested, lively player who will take part in the campaign with all my heart.  (Optional) Character ideas?: I would like to play a Water Genasi Monk (image above). But I'm open to develop another character (or adapt it) to balance the party if needed. Please pick me!
Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Jude Timezone: EST D&D Experience: I've been a DM since December 2018 and recently have been able to play since one of my group wanted to try being DM. However, all of my experience is in-person and I may need a little help figuring out how online games work. Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): I want an immersive experience in an interesting setting, well balanced between combat, puzzles, and social interaction. Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): I don't like murder hobos, and excessive sexual content makes me uncomfortable. Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): I think the best games are balanced between different aspects, but my favourite is roleplay/character development. Why should I consider you over other applicants?: I love and am invested in DnD, especially an ongoing story that allows characters to grow and develop. I am a respectful player who understands that successful games are a collaboration between the group rather than a competition. And between my experience as a DM and a tendency to read through the books whenever I'm bored, I have a good grasp of how the game works and the various features and abilities. (Optional) Character ideas?: I have plenty of character ideas and am open to filling any role the party needs, but I prefer rogues, sorcerers, and warlocks.
Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Mira Timezone: EST D&D Experience: Playing since the tail end of 3.5e, most often as a DM Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game):  A world the DM cares about. If you will care about it, so will I. Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): Besides the kind of stuff that often becomes 'rpghorrorstories', not too into hurting children, as that is a bummer, either by PCs or NPCs. I understand the implications of a village getting wiped out and things like that, but I will get uncomfortable if descriptions of a child suffering harm comes up. I am not against things getting 'grim' (as you say that is to be part of this campaign), but sometimes vagueness is better. Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): RP and exploring/learning about the world. Why should I consider you over other applicants?: I am experienced with D&D, know the rules well, am super flexible and understand the plights of the DM. I don't want to be that person who works against your world's lore, and if you seem passionate about your world, I am one of those players who will enjoy learning about it.  (Optional) Character ideas?: Able and willing to play anything, as well as abide by any sort of campaign restrictions. While I have no character I absolutely must play next, I am somewhat interested in trying a Monk, as I feel the least experienced with them. But I also would not mind waiting to make a character more sculted to your world, campaign, and group dynamic.
Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Mike, Miko, Mikosa, Shadow. Timezone: CST D&D Experience: I have played dnd since 2000. I have DM'd 3.0, 3.5, 5.0, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Mutants and Masteminds,  Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): Being a long time DM, I am looking for a fun group to play with. I don't get to be on the other side of the table very often. I like to be engaged by the game and fellow players. I like story and scenery. I like to interact with the world in semi-dramatic ways. Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): I have be able to get along with the DM and fellow players. I don't like when the party turns on a single PC, unless it is to enhance or progress the story. Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): I like playing some of the unique classes out there, or to elevate a typical class with unusual/exotic weaponry. Why should I consider you over other applicants?: I think you should consider everyone. As much as you don't know much about us, we don't know much about you. I am from Missouri so I don't have a strong accent. I have years of experience. I can lead, support, etc. I like to be useful to the party. I l prefer to be one of the last ones to make a character so I can fill in a position the party feels they need the most, or one that they don't prefer to play. (Optional) Character ideas?: Fighter from a Mid-size town, trained in the Militia/Guards. Uses a Spear, or other reach weapon. A wildshape druid. A summoner wizard. Just to name a few.

Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Rosepath/Rose Timezone: GMT (EST+4), but I'm self-employed and my schedule tends to sync up with EST just fine. 3-4 hour games starting at 7PM EST wouldn't be a problem. D&D Experience: I first tried out 5e about two and a half years ago, and I've been playing with other systems and watching 5e shows for much longer. I DM a weekly game of my own that's been going for about four months now. Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): Most of my 5e experience has been as a DM recently, so I crave getting in a few more hours as a player! My number one desire is to hang out with chill, friendly groups of people and create super fun adventures together as we work around the whims of the dice. I enjoy games that strike a good balance between activities, but I'm a sucker for classic dungeon crawls dressed up with plenty of RP flavour. As someone who doesn't enjoy the stiltedness of phone/video calls I also adore playing via text. Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): When it comes to storytelling I'm a firm believer that everything has its apropriate place and context. There isn't anything I'd hard pass on purely out of principle. What would bother me is if other people in the group became uncomfortable with where the game was going. I don't have a good time when my fellow players aren't having a good time. Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): I enjoy making full use of the game mechanics to create fun roleplaying opportunities. After taking a turn in combat or making a skill check I love writing up descriptions of how my rolls play out. Working with other players to create a complementary experience is way more fun than trying to go it solo. I enjoy parties full of diverse characters and classes who all have their own niche, both mechanically and narratively, within the adventure. Why should I consider you over other applicants?: Hopefully you think I'm cool! No, but really though, you should pick me if you think I'll click well with the rest of the group. If not you should try to grab someone else. (Optional) Character ideas?: I've been dying to play a spooky old skeleton lady in a game some time. I've been sitting on a character sheet for her for a while now. Mechanically she's a human (variant) war cleric steeped in a bunch of flavourful RP fluff to explain how the magic that animates her makes her subject to all the same rules as a regular human PC. She's on the goodly end of the alignment spectrum. I love playing weirdoes.
Name (whatever you wanna be called OOC): Wrath Timezone: Est D&D Experience: A few games, but most all combat or all RP.  Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): Good ruling as in clear rule in order to bend to make the game go in crazy ideas. Like a bag of flour in a room plus a fire make a giant indoor fireball.  Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): I'm not a fan of forcing the story as in have to do something.  Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): Try to stay in the rules, but still flexible for us to do the hell we want like the murder hobos we are. Why should I consider you over other applicants?:  I have been trying to get into tabletop as a past to escape the pain of IRL. All more of just killing things and getting paid. LOL (Optional) Character ideas?: Dwarf (Duergar) Fighter to and Echo Knight as Duergar are for the riches, but an echo knight can see other timelines and as hindsight is 20/20, He can see gold and gem but never to find some as it's apart of another timeline and as if he was cursed.
Jon PST D&D Experience: listening to NADDPOD.  Expectations (what you want out of a DM/game): brand new player, expecting fun and getting to know others.  Limitations (things you will not tolerate, are a hard pass for you): not much Preferences (what aspects of a game you like the most): love the world building and unlimited potential Why should I consider you over other applicants?: easy to get along with, mature, but likes to have fun. Will really get into character and live in the world. No high expectations cause first game  (Optional) Character ideas?:
