[LFG] Very new player to DnD(5e)

Hello! I am just starting out with DnD (Any TTRPG for that matter) and I am looking to join a group. I have only been playing for a couple months, but the session I am in is a large group of players all set in the same story. Sessions are first come first serve so sometimes I miss getting to play. They are typically very early Sunday mornings (3 am CST) so as long as it doesn't fall withing that time all is good. Also, I am 32 and would prefer to play with adults. Definitely would have to be a group over 18 at the very least.
Bruce, I've just posted on several forums. I'm a beginner and I'd like to find a group where we just run through D&D fights, spell casting, ability checks, etc. rapidly with no real story line. At least for a while so we can become proficient at the rules and system, kind of like a boot camp. Intrested?

Hey, guys. Just wanted to reach out quick and let you know I have a small community of primarily beginners slowly growing on Discord. Right now we have three different campaigns going on the server (two run by me, and one run by another member) and I'm in the process of setting up a system to run loosely connected one shots sporadically on my non-campaign nights. To what Bruce said, these one shots would also be first come first serve, though I don't know how large of a community you're competing with for spots. Right now my group only has a total of 14 people including myself, several of whom won't be playing in the one shot games much as they're already in a campaign or two. I'm looking to keep it relatively small and I'm somewhat picky about who I bring into the server. My foremost concern is whether someone will be a good fit with the people who are already there. Also, I'm 31, and the other members range from early 20s to early 40s. To Murder, I unfortunately likely won't be running any games like what you're describing, though it's possible someone else in my group might be interested. To me story and RP is the heart of the game, even in a one shot, and I admittedly get bored quickly with heavily combat focused games. Feel free to reach out if either of you might be interested in joining us and we can chat for a bit. :) My one big rule for the server is, that while anyone who is interested in DMing is welcome to run something there, I do not charge for games and will also not be hosting anyone else's paid games.
Myst, just for clarification. My main interest in D&D is also in the narrative, as a DM. But I discovered that I'm getting bogged down trying to work through the combat, so I need like a boot camp where I can get super efficient at the rolls, bonus, etc.
Hi guys. I am a newbie in Roll20, and old as I am, I have stopped playing rpg games many years. Now my teenager son wants me to play with him and introduce him to the game. Discord, I did not understand where exactly is your community and how to join it. Bruce, Murder, if you find someone to run a D&D game, we are two adventures willing to join
