I've browsed through the rules now, and they are very similar to what Baldur's Gate is using. Since I prefer RP over combat, the specific rules aren't really that important. As to what I'm not a fan of in AD&D has nothing to do with complexity - or rather, it lacks complexity. Or at least options and possibilities. The rules are too bare-bones in certain areas, and overly complex in other areas. Some limitations and rules are too arbitrary and inflexible. For example, apparently only rogues can climb walls or detect noise, for some reason. And I don't get why ability scores practically only matter once they're above 16, when the standard generation method provides a very low chance on achieving 16+. And the insistence of chance to decide permanent character traits is something I don't like either. (WIth that being said, there are a lot of things that bother me with PF (and Savage Worlds, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, World of Darkness and so on), as well, so maybe I'm generally critical of rules) However, finding someone willing to DM in this timezone is hard, and I might be mistaken in my presumptions, so I'm still willing to try. Though, as I said, I'm often otherwise occupied (basically, only tuesdays, thursdays and sundays work with any sort of frequency), so it might be hard because of that. Otherwise, I may be free to discuss characters tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday.
