Is there a way to hide the map from the game creator?

I have a game where someone else is the GM, but because I created the game, they can't hide the map from me. Is there a way to get rid of my GM capabilities?

You can always go to the gear icon in the top right and click on the Rejoin-As Player button. That should fix it. If not let me know and ill look more into it.

You can rightclick on the "join as player" button and copy the link to a bookmark. That way you can join your game without using gm-mode. Or you make an empty page and have that active when you're in gm-mode. Roll20 remembers this and will always bring you to that page when you rejoin the game next session as gm.
