I'm thinking of running a game with parents and kids, but the kids would not have their own roll20 login (one kid in particular is NOT savvy enough to use it himself). Is there a way that a player can be given access to more than one character sheet/token, etc.?

Sure, a single player can control as many tokens and characters as the GM gives them permission for.

Assuming this is a 'lock down' initiative and likely to be an in person game it might also be worth checking out 'Using Roll20 while Playing In-Person' ... otherwise just ignore me and listen exclusively to the guys above lol :)
