Questions about translating an existing character sheet

The guide says you need to be Pro to build a character sheet. Does that include translating it? What if I translate it over the code on GitHub?

If a character sheet has existing translation files and tag embedded into the character sheet, you can just apply to roll20 to become a translator. But if a sheet doesn't, one would need to create and place the tags in the sheet code, and testing that would require access to Roll20 pro subscription that can test the code changes. What sheet do you want to translate? I can check for you int the Roll20 code repository if it has translation files or not.

Thanks for your reply, Andreas. :-) I'd like to translate the RuneQuest Glorantha sheet.

I believe David, the guy who created the RQG sheet, is working on setting up the translation framework for the sheet. Do you mean you want to supply translations for a specific language, or help setting up the translation tags in the sheet? if the latter, you could PM him. His id will be in the json file for the sheet at github.
Hi GiGs, thanks for your reply. :-) I would like to supply a translation for my language. Since I didn't know the sheets need a translation framework for it, I thought I could do it over at GitHub. So far, I have forked the code of the html file onto my repository and I have been translating the terms I recognize from the finished sheet in English. The thing is, I would need to have the sheet translated before next Sunday . Could I do it in GitHub ?

I'm pretty sure it cant be done by next Sunday, unless you have the translation now. Roll20 does their sheet updates on Monday/Tuesday each week. I believe you can post the translations to github, but as I say they have a schedule for when they do updates, so you'd need to get the translations in tonight for them to be ready next week, and that depends on the sheet having been updated to support them. I dont know if it is, yet. Read this for more about that process:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Character_Sheet_Translation" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Character_Sheet_Translation</a>
I have been translating most of the terms on GitHub, but I'm not sure if the update tomorrow will show on the list of options of available sheets.&nbsp; Do I just need to "Commit changes" from my repository and that's it?

A version with translation tags and the base translation.json was merged yesterday.&nbsp; &nbsp;As far as I am aware there is no need to fork anything, and no way for you to test it since you do not have a PRO account.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Note to Translation volunteer:If a character sheet already translations capabilities, Roll20 prefers translation to be handled through the CrowdIn-service, which can be used by people without any programming background. Access to CrowdIn can be gained by emailing&nbsp; <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> &nbsp;and asking about wanting to do translations. How exactly how that works I have no idea.

Thank you, David! You did an awesome job with the sheet, BTW. Now that you are here, I have now a problem: after accessing the game in which I'm preparing some pregenerated PCs with your sheet, suddenly it has become a mess. I just see a wall of text like this (let me copy-paste a piece): I have tried creating a new game with the sheet, but the same happens!&nbsp; &nbsp;O_O!

Those head and body tags should not be there and of course when testing using a custom sheet they have no effect but do when merged into&nbsp; not the live system.&nbsp; I am going to have to ask for a roll back&nbsp;
OK, I just hope I can play this Sunday!&nbsp; &nbsp;:-D

The rollback will remove the translation tags.&nbsp; I have suggested a fix&nbsp; to keep the translation but it is unlikely that&nbsp; will do it this week&nbsp; and I no way of testing it since the live system functions differently to what we have available.&nbsp;

So the fix might not take place this week, but the roll back will? (I need to know if the sheets will be available in English as I'm running a RQG scenario for an online convention this Sunday. If they won't be available, I'll need to find some other solution. Do you know if someone from Roll20 could help me determine this?)

I have emailed Roll20.&nbsp; I have communicated with a&nbsp; Roll20 rep on the the unofficial Roll20 Discord channel&nbsp; and I have responded to the same query on github.&nbsp;
Thanks a lot, David!&nbsp; :_)
