EDIT: Now full on 5 players; thank you for your interest! If you'd like to reserve, in the case of someone dropping out, feel free to message me. One person is currently on reserve. --- Howdy all! I hope everyone is doing well. This is my first time making one of these posts, so please bare with me! I'm a semi-experienced DM looking to run a long term adventure for a small group of players. New and experienced players are both welcome; I will happily run a session 0 to go over characters and rules if needed. As long as you don't know the content of the module and are going in blind (meta-gaming can ruin the fun) you're more than welcome to join. I will be altering some details as we go, and will also be bringing in characters and thread elements from your characters' backstories. As an outline of my playstyle, I lean more towards roleplaying and character interaction than endless combat, but there will be some circumstances where a fight may be necessary. Thorough as the rules are, I'm also willing to take liberties and reward player creativity as long as everyone's having fun. In the past, I've ran a homebrew campaign that spanned a couple years or so, and a handful of shorter ones on the side. That being said, this is my first time running through this particular module, so there may be points where I need extra time to prepare or pause to look something up. The setting: Tyranny of Dragons is set in the sword coast, in the forgotten realms of Faerun. Your characters are travellers on their way to the town of Greenest, hoping to find a warm bed for the night, or maybe a quick job or two to earn a bit of coin. But what lies in wait is far more deadly and daring than they ever could have believed... Content Warnings: This one is important for me to go over, so please take these into consideration. The tone of the game can also depend entirely on the tone of the group; Tyranny of Dragons is nowhere near as horror-based as Curse of Strahd, for example, but it does involve some horror aspects, such as body horror, emotional manipulation, mental illness and mind control, although it'll be more mentions as opposed to something explored in depth. I'm aware this can be triggering, so if you are uncomfortable with those themes, this may not be the game for you. If you have concerns about other content, please feel free to speak to me; I'd rather everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves than throwing in a plot thread that upsets someone. As a rule, I am strictly against any mentions of non-consensual sex, or any form of sexual misconduct. It won't come up in play, and I'd prefer if it wasn't in your character's backstories, either. The players: that's where you lovely lot come in! I'm looking for 3-5 players with level 1 characters from any of the standard modules (excluding unearthed arcana). Feel free to build from any of the published content though - players handbook; Xanathar's guide; sword coast guide; etc. If you're not sure if something applies, feel free to ask! If you have a prepared background, or want to work one out with me as we go, that would be grand. I'd also ask that you're at least 20 years old for my own comfort; I'm 25 and prefer to play with people around the same age, or older. Other than that, all you need is a heart for adventure, and a willingness to breathe life into this world with me! My current plan is to run on Sunday afternoons/evenings (6pm onwards) but given the quarantine, that's very flexible. We will be using roll 20 for maps, discord for OOC talk, and potentially discord/skype for voice chat if that fares better for group chats. Looking forward to hearing from you!
