legacy dynamic lighting and advanced fog of war

So i'm having a hard time getting this right. I'm testing with a player token and he sees almost the entire map. His vision should be 60ft, but when i put him in the topleft corner and even reset the fog, i can see he can see things past 12 squares. How is this possible? I guess it's because of the lightsources I put on the map. But how can i limit him from looking further than 12 squares? . I put 60 feet in the advanced fog of warr setting on his character.
Even though you are using a player token, you may still be seeing a GM view. I have a dummy account in another name that I use for testing how things look and work for players.  There are some ways to partially see as a player while in GM mode, but even when logged in as a player, if you use the name you use as a GM, many tokens will have been set up as controlled by you.  Control-L has some limitations also and does not mimic movement restrictions.

If there are no dynamic lighting lines obstructing vision, players can see the entire length of the map provided there is light. If you don't want them to be able to see further than 60 feet you will need to turn all the lights off in the map, provide some LOS barriers, or you can use Fog of War & Reveal Tool to manually obscure the map. The naked human eye can see the Andromeda galaxy, which is 2.5 million light years away. Your squares must have a mighty scale!
