[LFP] [5e] Mystery / Steampunk / Apocalypse campaign [home-brew]

A brief overview of the world: Our campaign is set in the year 2251. It's been 300 years since the great storm, a worldwide event, which almost saw the end of humanity. Information has been lost, buildings crumbled and all that remains is the wasteland. Small communities and tribes continue to live, creating trade between one another, but life isn't so simple. Danger is forever present in the wastelands, whether it be from the monstrous beasts which roam the world or the aspiring criminals hoping to make a name for themselves, there is always someone, or something waiting to seize an opportunity.  Recently, The Empire has began asserting its presence in the wastelands, in attempts to recruit new soldiers for their war against Cordemagia, another nation which rests across the seas. Since then, Phantom City, a expansive mega city and home of the Imperial forces, has been a hive of activity, as industry flourishes in the name of war.  So far... Several members of the party were given a task to find a man by the name of Tomas Olson. Since then, they have been following clues, getting side tracked and have begun to realize that everything might not be as it first appeared. Since then, one member was killed after stepping on the toes of the scavengers, scrap dealers with powerful contacts. After being locked up and interrogated, they met a wastelander, who decided to tag along with the group. They traveled east, to a nearby town to lay low, but, little rest was found, as they discovered the location of an artifact which they had been looking for. After ascending the mountains, looting the old temple, the were victorious in the quest, but may have set in motion a horrible chain of events.  Upon returning to the town, One of the party members, energized by their success, decided that his path was to take a detour for awhile, and left the party to seek knowledge related to their religion. Now, with one member less, our party pushes south.... Information: This is the important part, so please read the information carefully.  This is a home-brew game. Items, locations, gods, everything.  All player characters are human we aren't looking for someone who wants to play a class "to meet the party needs", we want someone who wants to play a class because they enjoy playing that class, or would like to try something new.  Role play is a major part of this campaign, this doesn't mean you have to be good at voices, but just be prepared to talk things through.  I work with each player when developing the backstory for their character, so that inside they main story-arc, they also have a personal story-arc. We play via Discord and Roll 20. Wednesdays @ GMT+2.  Our current party is between 24-34 years old, so we're not accepting anyone under 18, however, we don't have a limit on age, so if you're 80, you're okay. Application: If you've made it this far, congratulations! so what's next? Anyone interested in joining our campaign, please send me a PM with the following information: Introduction: I'd like to know a little bit about you, anything you think would be worth knowing. For example, My name is Vinnie, I'm an ESL (English as a second language) teacher living in France. I'm a fan of cosmic horror, batman comics and punk culture.  Confirm you availability: Remember we play every week at 7 pm GMT+2 (let me know your time zone too) Let me know what class you were thinking of being and the reason why Any questions you have Whether accepted into the campaign or not, I will do my best to respond to everyone.  And that's about it..... I think....wait.... *he begins to flick through the endless sheets of paper which are scattered on the desk, throwing them up into the air, until finally, he comes across a small, coffee stained post-it note, he jumps to his feet and turns to you...* ..... you'll be starting at level 3!.... *he sits back down, as the the sheets of papers around him slowly fall to the ground* Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.  - Vinnie [GM of "Strange times"]
Introduction:  Hello there! I’m Jared, 19 years old and from the US. I’m a part-time radio DJ, and a second-year community college student working towards an Associates Degree in Jewelrysmithing. I’m a fan of adventure, history, Warhammer, and, of course, steampunk. Confirm you availability: Currently I am available on the scheduled Wednesdays, and my timezone is MST. (I believe 1pm my time from the GMT conversion) Let me know what class you were thinking of being and the reason why: I am looking to be able to play a class that I’ve picked up and edited after it was abandoned, as I’m really interested in playing it and see how it goes. It is known as a Tech-Priest, indeed from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. There is logic and balancing behind what would bring him to this world, if I’m allowed to join.  Any questions you have: The class I’ve mentioned is of course a homebrew, and I can understand if you have a disposition to such things. All I wish to know is your stance on homebrewed classes.
Would you like to join a discord server for dnd, we have multiple games like pbp, 5e, west marches, one shots and more. There are games daily. We’re kind, friendly and accept anyone even if they are new to dnd and roll 20 or experienced. Feel free to  pm me

This spiked my interest to play as a reformed bandit turned samurai biker but the time difference to est is brutal.
