NYTES Not Your Traditional Epic Story Aether Knights Welcome everyone, NYTES: Aether Knights is a brand new adventure that simulates a novel of which is currently being written, by yours truly. As players in this campaign you will not only embark on a grand adventure that paves the way for the future of the world, but you will also be assisting me in writing a fantastic epic story! I am attempting something of which has never been done before, and that is to capture the experiences, dialogue, and emotions of fantastic role-players. All of this is in hopes to translate it from pen to paper and create something truly dynamic, and memorable for the years to come. Now keep in mind that this is of course a loose interpretation of what I expect to occur from session to session. Not all of the moments captured during gameplay will be translated to the novel. Nevertheless, let me explain the world of which you will be living in! The beautiful bustling world of Aendyr has seen peace in its entirety for over seventy-two years. The various races of humankind coexist together in a splendid and euphoric experience unlike ever seen before. Such experiences were considered impossible almost a century ago, however, since the halt and banning of the production of firearms the world has seen a standstill that has been met with resounding bliss. No longer shall man triumph in conquest with hand made explosives and weaponry but instead the age of chivalry and sword fair will prosper forward. Of course, this does not mean that every individual is ecstatic that the leaders of the world came to such a conclusion. In fact, the decision was made by such a slim margin that if one more in the council had offered their hand in favor of keeping production going then there would have been a stalemate. Nevertheless, the world has prospered as a result, and the Aether that fills the world with magic and wonder has flourished. New groves of wildlife, and creatures unseen to man previously have taken their first breath in these past seventy-two years. Aendyr holds three continents upon her waters, all evenly distanced between each other forming what is known as the Triad. In between these three continents lies the Sea of Birth and around them the massive ocean that lines the shores of these known lands. Legend tells of an island in the Sea of Birth that no man has ever seen nor step foot on the shores of. This island is the supposed birthplace of the Goddess Terra who reigns over the world, and ensures that the Aether keeps flowing within. Aether is the known magical essence that flows freely throughout the world. This very essences grants beings their magical prowess, gives life to various flora and fauna, and is essentially the breath of all things living. The Goddess Terra has not been seen in this world since the day firepower was banished, and many speculate that she is resting after such a long fought battle. Nevertheless, her counterpart remains active, and never ceases to whisper in the ears of those who hunger for power. His name is unspoken by many as they revel in fear that he should come forth and destroy their lands. He is known as Malice, Lord of Anger, Death, Pestilence, and more formally known as El'Kur. He is the provocateur, the creator of warlocks, all things unholy, and the other half of the Goddess Terra. They exist together as a cosmic balance that ensures the stability of the known universe, however, they are doomed to battle over the known cosmos for all eternity. After seventy-two years of known peace the world rumbles once more as the emergence of steam power entices the masses. Zeppelins fly overhead transporting passengers from city to city and continent to continent. Trains roar through mountains and engineers have begun producing the first known mechanical beings. The development of this technology has been spear headed by the nation Melurya that owns a majority of the western continent. They are the same nation that spear headed the advancement of warfare technologies seventy-two years ago. The world has perceived this technological advancement as beneficial and the council has almost unanimously agreed to begin implementing it across the globe. Of the six nations in the world only one nation had disagreed. Those nations who agreed to implement this technology were of course Melurya, Scithia, Aelyndor, Gorgona, and Tybis. The opposing nation who wanted to keep the world clean and free from this pollution was the nation of Yuriya. It is in this nation that you will begin your story proud adventurers! Every year on the day of the autumnal equinox the nation of Yuriya holds a pilgrimage to a place known as the Cavern of Glory. It is this location that the Goddess Terra had chosen her champions to fight in her name against the unspoken one. The line of pilgrims expands as far as the eye can see as you wait here patiently for your opportunity to enter the Cavern. It is said that five must enter together and make the journey through the caverns. What is at the end is different for every cluster that enters, however, if you are chosen to become the next Aether Knights the Cavern will shut behind you stopping all from entering furthermore. Thus it will begin anew, and the eternal battle between good and evil shall rage on... Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that you are as excited as I am to begin this journey! Be as honest as you can as this will be a key element to who is picked and who isn't. PLEASE NOTE: This Campaign is meant for five players, and is set to be a mature experience. After all this is Not Your Traditional Epic Story. I will be looking for either three males and two females, or two males and three females to fill the roles within this story. I am ALSO inclined if the proper candidates do apply to possibly increase the party size to six players. If I cannot find the appropriate amount by Sunday June 21st at 6:30 PM then we will reschedule to begin NEXT Sunday at the same time. Please do not be offended if I turn down your applications, as I am not only looking to fill these roles with the best possible candidates, but also with a mixture of various wonderful personalities!
