Can you bind dynamic lighting lines to map art?

I'd like to do things like draw columns, trees, and boulders and put the dynamic lighting light barrier lines on them, then be able to copy and move these around. Or create some tiles (like a variety of 2x3 rooms), put the lines around them with door gaps, and then be able to drag them onto the map. Is there a way to link/group across the layers? When I tried, I was basically putting art on the DL layer, and of course then the art wasn't visible.
