Archiving Large Amounts of Tokens/Journals

Hello! I am currently planning on running a Pokemon Tabletop United game with some friends, which I am DMing. I plan on having a partial character sheet and animated gif token for each Pokemon in play, and to have many of these in the back I can use in a pinch. I want to start inputting the data for these random encounters now while I have time. I read a thread from 4 years ago, however, which suggests that such a large volume of journals could put a lot of strain on the game, even when archived. My questions are this: 1. With 4 years of updates under its belt, does Roll20 still have problems with this? 2. Would this limitation apply to the Art Gallery as well? Or should it not prevent me from uploading essentially 800+ small gifs in advance?

Yes, this can still be a problem. How many character sheets do you think you are likely to need? Note that the issue is related to number of attributes on a sheet - and the biggest roll20 sheets have hundreds of attributes each. If you're only making partial sheets with a limitd number of attributes, you can probably get a LOT of characters. Regarding the art gallery - no, you can have as many pics in your art gallery as you need. They only start contributing to campaign lag when they are loaded into a campaign - by adding them as a portrait to a character, or dropping them as a token on the map, for instance.

Thank you so much! I was planning on making around 50 or so for the time being, but know it will likely end up being much more. I might just end up deleting and remaking them if they become a problem, especially because the number of attributes on a PTU character sheet is off-the-wall (even when only partially filled).  As for the pictures, that makes me extremely happy! Thanks again for the advice!
