Synopsis: When your party decides to stay the night in the small village of Riverholde, you hear a distressing tale. Three months ago, the villagers awoke one morning to discover that a house at the edge of their village had been sacked and all its occupants had gone missing. In the weeks that followed, the raids continued, perpetrated by hooded figures. It became ever more apparent to the frightened people of Riverholde that the raiders were taking their fellow villagers west, toward the ancient burial ground that lays beyond the forest. The villagers now believe that the raiders are the servants of the legendary Barrow King come to punish the them for some unknown transgression. Can you aid the villagers in their fight against the Barrow King? GM's Notes: This is a challenging (but not punishing) "kick down the door and fight the monster" style dungeon-crawler that newer players can use to hone their grasp of D&D mechanics, and experienced players will enjoy for its classic style of gameplay.
