I am looking to use Ghosts of Saltmarsh to begin a campaign focused on the players characters and hope to have fun gaming experience. In games I run the characters backstories come in to play. Ghost of saltmarsh begins with rumors of a haunted house on the outskirts of a seaside town. Think about why your character would investigate such a place. Beyond that there is a significant amount of sailing involved in Ghosts of Saltmarsh.
