Rime of the Frostmaiden Map labels

When I try to move labels on the map from the GM Overlay to the Map layer, the words (or symbols) instead disappear, and I can't get them back. Is there any way to reload these maps, or to solve the problem?

Keep in mind that there is also a z-order on different layers.  If the map has been set "to front", then your labels are probably there but are behind the map.  You may want to click on the map and send to back to see if that makes your labels appear.
Oh okay! How do I do that? Sorry - I'm pretty new to this

If you switch to the map layer, then right-click on the background map image (almost anywhere on the map layer... there shouldn't be much else on it), then click "to back". That should send the map image behind everything else on the map layer. There's a couple of complications to the z-order - if a token "has sight" enabled or a player has been assigned permissions to it, it'll stay on top of other tokens no matter what you do. This shouldn't affect the map layer though - it's not a useful layer for a player token to be on. Something to be aware of though.
