Three New Modules for the Roll20 Marketplace!

We've promised they were coming for quite some time, and here they come! First up, if you're looking for a one shot that will change the way you look at RPG's, you've got to get a group together and try The Quiet Year . A fan of FATE gameplay (or looking to give it your first try)? Paul Ooshun wrote and illustrated Sins of the Paladin for Roll20. Finally, going live next week is Adventure Quarterly #5 , a collection of Pathfinder encounters from Rite Publishing, realized by moderator Kristin!

Sweet, we've finally got some real selection for modules! Based on the description, it appears that The Quiet Year is system-agnostic. Is that correct...?

The Quiet Year sounds more board game than RPG.

Maybe the marketplace could have another field alongside "Author:" and "License:" that says "Intended System:" or something? This would help make it clear even if the description of the module doesn't. =)

The announcement and description text for "The Quiet Year" is confusing in that it doesn't tell what game system(s) could be used to play it. It only says "a map game" and this is not a familiar terminology to me. What does it mean? Congratulations on launching Modules in the Marketplace. Exciting possibilities are ahead.

Again, it is it's own system. And from the description: The game is played using a deck of cards – each of the 52 cards corresponds to a week during the quiet year. Each card triggers certain events – bringing bad news, good omens, project delays and sudden changes in luck. At the end of the quiet year, the Frost Shepherds will come, ending the game. It's an extremely unique gaming experience... kind of like "Fiasco" but prone to being more somber and with a focus on society instead of characters. Here's us playing it (with API, the module has the actual licensed cards): http://www.twitch.tv/roll20app/b/479516116

If anyone is interested to see what's in Sins of the Paladin, here's a small shot taken from the work while it was in progress: There's a lot more in the module but hopefully that gives you a flavour of what you'd be getting.

The Quiet Year does look interesting, and I've purchased it. It's not clear from the blurb whether it's a solo game, a group game or a game that needs a GM. Skimming the rules, it would be useful to update the market place blurb with something like: "For 2 to 4 players one of whom also acts as the facilitator. Games should last from 2 to 4 hours."
so does this mean roll20 will be supporting fate style stress tracks soon?

Good advice, we'll add that. Let us know how your session goes when you get a chance to play it!

This is quite the coincidence , I ran The Quite Year on roll 20 two weeks ago. It is not an RPG but more of a collaborative map drawing / storytelling game. It does not require a GM everyone at the table is a player but no one "plays" a character. Here is the website http://buriedwithoutceremony.com/the-quiet-year/ The creator, Avery Alder Mcdaldno has several really fantastic games. Here is a screen shot of our map at the end of the game
