well, as i understood it, the number of proficiencies is equal to the number of languages. And because i am a wizard i have lots of intelligence, so i get lots of proficiencies. (8 lang + 4 base = 12) its like in 3.5th edition skill points, you get them for int, so wizards have a lot (though they have less base to compensate for that). if our DM wants, i can take some more languages and less proficiencies also, as you might have noticed, my equipment isnt quite done yet^^

The languages are actual languages , there is a section on increasing proficiencies based on a high int

Yeah, I read it over. You get as many proficiencies as you do languages to star out with plus your class number. Languages are non proficiencies. Also since we are talking about languages, my half-elf doesn't speak elven because he was an orphan in a human city. So we better hope that our ranger does speak elven.

Don't forget that proficiencies don't all cost only 1 point , I think swimming is 2 or 3 . 

By the way I will be running a paladin for this game as well

Are you guys going to be streaming/recording this? I would be interested in listening/watching. I run an AD&D 2nd edition campaign on Tuesdays  and play in a game whit guys from Europe on wednesdays, and another group (basic/expert D&D) on thursdays so I am a little busy to play in another game. Sounds like you should have some good fun though :)

Streaming? Hmm, i would do it, but my internet is too slow i think.

I would love to but my current internet speed is 1MB. Do we know for sure when we're playing? I need to know what day to sleep in and take a bunch of naps.

Chris you are more than welcome to sit in if you don't want to play, we could probably use the extra player though since I haven't heard anything from Julio or Dennis in a while. So I must assume that they no longer wish to play, we need at least 4 players to start the campaign on Saturday.
