D&D5 Charactermancer french translation

Hi, I am new on this platform and I am a little bit lost. I have created a game with D&D5 template and I have created the first character using charactermancer. The charac sheet is well translated in french but spell, attributes, dons etc... are not translated. I have also noticed that some parts are missing eg only one history is available in the charactermancer. Someone could help me it is really time consuming to get used to english words when you have always played in french. Thanks Gabriel

Hi Gabriel, The character sheet has a large number of localization (translation) files. They provide non-English names to things that would appear on a blank character sheet: Names of attributes or sections, for instance. Compendium data is a different source. It is a huge body of work that would require professional translation on a large scale to be performed by the copyright holder, in your case, Wizards of the Coast. This translated material would then have to be input in a parallel format to all of the data for the existing English language Compendium. It's not likely to happen for economic and legal reasons. The text in Charactermancer that tells you to "Pick two skills" or "Choose 11 spells" and the like could probably be translated with a localization file, like the character sheet, and that you might be able to ask for with some hope of success. It might already be done for some languages, for all I know. As for missing items, this likely has to do with which compendium items you have purchased. WotC releases a large subsection of the rules for free use. This is called the System Reference Document, or SRD. That has only one background, one feat, one subclass for each class and so on. Roll20 cannot legally provide more, so they license the content of WotC books, such as the Players Handbook and convert it into a form usable by Roll20. These items are available for purchase on the Marketplace page.
Hi Keithcurtis, Thanks a lot for this quick and complete answer. That is very helpful. So I manage to rewrite all the spells that my characters use in French but I am facing another issue. Yesterday evening all was correct but today morning when I reloaded the app I have some mix of French and English in the character sheet which is a little bit odd. Any ideas of where does it come from ?

Any ideas of where does it come from ? It's possible the sheet isn't 100% translated to French, and some sections remains. Roll20 sheet's translations are done on CrowdIn . Edit: or there might be some larger issues going on with translations, another thread is also talking about missing translations for official 5e sheet, something that changed very recently: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9505944/character-sheet-translation-is-lost/?pageforid=9506209#post-9506209" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9505944/character-sheet-translation-is-lost/?pageforid=9506209#post-9506209</a>
