New to Roll20...

I was told to go here because they had the Basic/Expert edition of Dungeons & Dragons rules but I can't it. Can someone help me out?
The basic rules are available on the D&D website for free. They are also sorta available in the in-game compendium for free in here if you are part of ( or start) a game using 5th Edition D&D. You can purchase the full Player's Handbook through the marketplace and that gives you access to all of its content in your games. If that's not what was meant by whomever sent you here, I'm not sure what they meant.

If you are talking about the BECMI series of rules for D&D, I believe there are sheets that support it. But there's no compendium of rules, monsters and spells like there is for 5e. You would need to supply those yourself.
Hi everybody! I'm kinda new in this amazing role-playing world. I'm looking for a group that is happy to have a "noob" player where they can have fun and help me evolve as a player. Thanks!
Hi! Question about the ping sound that would happen when I use my spell or attacks, roll initiative etc. When I made them in to macros they stopped making that sound, any idea why? Thanks!

Thanks! I'm guessing the ping sound you are referring to is made when you have "enabled background chat beep" checked on the settings menu. For that sound to activate, you have to be on a different tab than the chat window , as its function is to alert you when there is a new chat message that you might not see.  If you are on the chat window it's assumed that you'll see the message so no beep is needed (that's the reasoning behind the setting I'm assuming at least). So make sure you have that setting checked, then run the macro when you're not on the chat window tab and see if you still hear the sound. Also make sure you can hear sound from other apps/sites (you have your volume turned on, that you haven't muted the site or tab in Chrome, that your speakers are plugged in, etc).
Btw jarren you got a really cool pp
