Hey everyone, I'm Scott, and I'm currently running a paid, homebrew campaign called Raventome. One of my players very recently had to drop out due to scheduling issues, so we're looking to add 1-2 more people. Campaign Setting Raventome is a full homebrew campaign built for D&D 5e and inspired by sources such as Lord of the Rings, The Elder Scrolls, and a little bit of Studio Ghibli thrown in.  -What players can expect: Diverse setting to allow a large number of races, classes, and backstories to find origins within. Homebrewed pantheon with a few 'lesser deities' pulled from other sources. A tense political landscape. A number of branching story arcs spanning the Material plane, the Feywild, and the Shadowfell. A dynamic style that encourages collaborative story-telling in a -mostly- sandbox country. Lots of custom, detailed maps made by me for nearly every locale. Legendary items for those clever enough to find them. Combat encounters occasionally above your weight class. Monster carving, allowing you to create/commission useful items made from leftover monster parts. Cursed items. The effects of which you won't learn until you attune/use them. My goal is to create an experience for you that is unlike what you will find in most modules. The actions of your PCs will have real consequences that will absolutely affect the rest of the world you will play in. I try to keep a good ratio of 50/50 roleplay and combat, but this is always subject to change based on player choices.  My DM style I've been DMing for a bit over a year but spent 12+ years as a player as well. My storytelling style is kinda  a la  Matt Mercer, but you'll see where my own flare makes it my own. I do use voices (badly) but am not particular if you would rather not use them, yourself. I like to come to each session well-prepared, well-researched, and am always ready to work with you to make your PC- and their backstory- all your own. So you always get the most out of your game. I like to include music and ambiance to improve the atmosphere and really bring you into the game. Why pay-to-play? As I mentioned, I like to come to each session well-prepared. I spend a lot of time making maps, creating custom encounters outside what you would normally find from sourcebooks, and music/ambiance. Because of the dynamic story-telling, some of these things will have to be made on the fly each week. This means I need to buy new assets and tokens, and that doesn't come cheap. But you will arrive knowing I'm not going to phone-in or theater-of-the-mind an encounter (unless you really throw me a curveball of a twist) Details and application Sessions take place Thursdays at 10 pm EST.
