(TL;DR: Massive 18+ homebrew RP heavy world with a World Anvil ran by an artist seeks out one last person to round a party. We have a Wizard, Warlock, Paladin, and Sorcerer. Strict scheduling however, only timezone available is starting at 2:00pmEST on Monday's with the general runtime being 3-5 hours. We are 4-5 sessions in, not too far, and the introduction to the campaign is you get kidnapped by a cult. Fun stuff! It's size lends to the ignorance of its peoples. Some say the great seas never end and the oceans continue on a never ending horizon of islands and continents to explore. In some corners technologies and revolutionary ideas have sparked an end to aspects of that ignorance. In other corners the world seems to never change from it's ways. Religion and science are the main enforcers of order in Ammearim. Many find purpose behind these concepts. But magic is feared and rare, with most practitioners of it being seen as having an alternate agenda. Despite the call of religion, the gods (and all their strange and otherworldly ways) are undefined and mysterious, granting their blessings and powers seemingly haphazardly to their worshippers and on whims alone. At times, feeling truly only like divine puppetmasters. In the Uscon Isles, which is seen as the human center of the entire world, the Good Empress Rienlage was killed almost a year ago. She was assassinated by a mage, and discord spreads across the Isles, rippling outward across the sea as warring factions point fingers and fling accusations and violence, and as the cities begin the process of tumbling in on themselves. Nobles of the empire vie for the throne, while Rienlage’s spoiled children backstab each other. The Merchant Princes and pirates become bolder. The Dragon's of the world raise their wings to war against the mortal creatures that hunt them relentlessly. A rippling dimensional collapse from an unknown source has caused thousands of new unpredictable monsters to explode across the landscape, alongside gigantic titans of dead gods and ancient creatures not meant for this world. Finally, an unnatural mist spreads across the land swallowing people whole, plagues bubbling from under the city, and a droning everlasting hunger that growls within the cosmic night sky.. What will you do? Where will you go? Is there anywhere really to run to anymore? With the world is chaos, what will you carve out? A destiny of peace, and order? I am an artist who has been working on a world setting; and this server is the product of my efforts. By joining this campaign you will be joining a world setting of other campaigns. Songs of Shadow: Yugen will run parallel with another campaign I run called Songs of Shadow: Evanescent. Though its not projected I will ever expect the two campaigns to meet up (save for maybe a special occasion), your actions within the world will effect them, and vice versa. It's a living world after all! • Race system completely new and homebrewed, additional new classes, and subclasses. It is not balanced what so ever and is kept the way it is with player fun in mind. (We have a massive world anvil.) • Discord for voice, Roll20 for the games, time/date strictly starting at 2PM EST, Monday. • Strictly 18+. Very serious topics may come up, including sex, violence, discrimination, drug use. • High Difficulty/Serious Campaign. We want a mature story here, and even though we may cut back and relax at times, most of the campaign is designed to be extremely challenging morally, ethically, and physically. Whether you are a new or old player, I plan to challenge you! RP is a centralized must, and combat tends to be deadly requiring quick thinking and strategy. • God Killer Campaign. The main premise of the campaign is amassing power. Divine prophecy, all that sorta BS. It is expected to go into epic levels, (with a slow gradual rise) and be aware that fighting gods of this world is not off the table ;) • Completely Homebrew. I have spent a long time, and am still in the process, of toiling away at an entire world anvil for this world. Custom races, custom lore, pantheons, feats, classes. What's not given a current huge document is likely in a handout. I tend to work on this in my downtime, and I work as an artist from home so I have a LOT of downtime. • Themes. Dishonored has been a huge inspiration in the way the world feels. It is very bleak, and yet sparks of hope do shine through but only if someone is brave enough, or cunning enough, to step forward to do so. The most tantalizing fruit tends to be the most deadly. There are influences from other such media like Bioshock, Rdr, The works of HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe. • Ever shifting World. Things change in real time; and flash sessions, events, and plothooks can happen at random points throughout and not all are expected to be followed. We also have a World Anvil we use that I am not going to post here until I clean it up a bit more ahaha. • You're a part of the world. Each player plays a single PC. I, Pyro, will do private one on one 'session 0s' for each character, establishing their motivations and talking about ideas. Even if your character is to die, their backstory does not go away, and lingers elsewhere in the world. (And all the problems that may come with it.) • Inclusive is Important. We are a server of friends, fairly inclusive to all walks of life. Straight, gay, trans, male, female, nonbinary, non race discriminating, anything goes!
