In the Realm of Tartarus, there are many different empires and Independent cities that make up the realm, The three major empires are the Elven empire, Human Empire, and the Demon Empire. The Demon empire being home to all of the Demons that exist in the realm of Tartarus. Inside the Demon Empire, there are many species, cities, and independent cities that want no involvement with the Demon empire. In the demon empire, there is only one form of leadership and that is a Monarchy. The Demon Empire is ruled by one person the Demon Emperor with absolute power over everything. Alongside the Demon Empire, there are many different clans/families in Empire. A very powerful clan/family is the Royal Demon Clan which is made up of both the former clans of the Emperor and Empress. After the death of the former Emperor, a new emperor has been crowned the son of the former emperor along with comes with the crowning of a new empress. The process and the requirements to be an empress are very different from the requirements of being Emperor because of the Demon Empire being such a patriarchal society they believe that men should be both physically strong as well as mentally strong with no care for physical attractiveness. Unlike the Empress trials where they judge a woman based on her mental prowess, physical attractiveness. as well as her understanding of manners and grace. The empress trials demand the calling of every female in the demon empire to be present to participate. Character Backstory ~Celestia GolenRose before her crowning as Empress because of her succedent of the Empress Trials. Celestia came from a small clan by the name of GoldenRose during her childhood she wasn't the best treated among her brother and sisters. After her mother's death, she was ultimately seen as sort of the Blacksheep of the family because of her mother being nothing but low titled consort to her father she wasn't granted the same advantages as the other children of the clan. As the Empress Trials started to take place. many of her clan thought about hiding her at first because they thought that she wasn't deserving of seeing the emperor's sight, but they decided not to because if the government found out that they lied to the emperor that was capital punishment which can lead to the killing of the entire clan which would be disastrous. After the Empress Trials after the success of Celestia finding out that she had succeeded in becoming empress was both an amazing achievement for her but was a mix of emotions because at the same time their clan would be an official part of the Royal Clan but the title of empress would go to the child that they had abandoned at an early age so the fear that they held because after she inherited the power and the position of the empress, nothing could stop her if she wanted to punish them nobody but the emperor. The ceremony to officially becoming an empress is way different than the empress trials because to officially accept the title of empress the emperor and future empress have to have their honeymoon night where the emperor will officially mark the empress and welcome in the new members of the royal clan as well as he will announce to the empire that they have their empress. Even though the power of being Emperor and Empress is immense the duties that come with it are grand. Celestia must learn to manage the royal palace the servants and guards inside, the royal family, the emperor's concubines, the Menke (concubines of the empress), to also host events for lords, officials, and other leaders that are inside of the Demon Empire. The mark of the Emperor can only be given to one person during the reign of that emperor so here will only be one empress but there can be as many concubines as the emperor wants.
