Splitting the party at the launching of the game?

My problem is the following : I have 2 groups on the same game and soon, each will have a large map to discover day by day... But the two groups won't go at the same pace on the map nor they'll go at the same places on it, not followign the same roads, etc... So i would like to have the players of group 1 land on one page when logging in the game and those of group 2 land on another page when logging... I now splitting the party during a game is possible but does it reset as soon as the game is reopen after everyone log out?

Splitting players from the party ribbon persists across sessions.  There are some API solutions that could make this easier at the Pro subscriber level, but a Plus an lower, manually splitting the group is what you have.  You could copy the game and have one of your groups play in a different game, which would let them each be the ribbon in their respective games.  Doing that might be nicer with the Transmogrifer around to move handouts and such back and forth (again, a Pro subscriber perk).  Sorry to sound like a sales guy, just giving you the options. =D

Duplicate the map image on a single page, and simply put a DL barrier line between the two maps.  That way both parties will be on the same page, but seeing different things. This would depend on the size of your map image. 2. Use the ' light crumbs ' trick on an individual map: create two party tokens (Party 'A' and Party 'B') with invisible .png tokens that have vision, and as each group explores, drop a new token along the path they follow.

Didn't think of the first option, i should look if i can put both maps on the same page without being too large Second option won't work as i have a lot of token on the map already to hide areas (hex grid map) To be more precise, i'm running Tomb of Annihilation and it's the big Chult Map i would like the team to land on
