Weekly Gaming Session Summary #48 (04/11/2021)

Thank You For Playing today's game 04/11/2021 - From 8:15 EDT, until 11:00 pm EDT, and our 286th Gaming Session, goes out to: Magic-User - Elf - Xilicien -  Devin M. Paladin Knight – Human – Lord Cromther - Cromth     Game Summary for Sunday Evening (04/11/2021):   Opening Scene: It is now 53 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and It is now:  7:00 am on September 15th (Day 47 on the Isle of Dread).   The adventures are now in the occupied half of the huge structure that the Deathwalker tribe reside in. Lo Shan is speaking to a 7.5 ft tall humanoid known as a Gnoll, similar in looks to a hyena, standing alongside a set of double doors with another gnoll guard. When asked if he had a pass, Lo Shan mentioned his fist was the pass but quickly shows him the pass given to him by an agent of Zoldathra’s. The gnoll guard tells him that unless he’s there to pay respects to Xanathar and Sertrous to buzz off then grabs the pass tablet to have a closer look then hands it back allowing him to enter, while opening the door. Lo Shan then says, “Why didn’t you say that at the start? We are all here to pray for the arrival of Sertrous. Hail Sertrous. Can we all go in now?” The gnoll says, “I said only you buddy.” Lo Shan steps forward trying to slam the door into the gnoll guard but he was not surprised by the maneuver and ducked getting slammed! Then the gnoll guard attacks Lo Shan with his bardische slashing him for 5 damage! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Lo Shan, pounds Gnoll #02 with the Iron Fist move, striking for 11 damage! Lord Cromther, using his weapon of choice, the magical +1/+3 vs Regens long sword, slashed Gnoll #01 for 8 Damage! Gnoll #06, fires an arrow with a short bow at short range of 31to 50 ft and missed Lo Shan! Camlin, slashed Gnoll #01 with the magical +1 Calenyanda long sword for 3 slashing damage! Sword now has a +2 on damage for if he scores a hit again! Xilicien,  justs moves to position himself. Gnoll #01, fires his short bow at short range, hitting Lo Shan for 4 damage! Gnoll #03, swings his bardische at Camlin and missed! Sheila, justs moves to position herself. Gnoll #05, stays put for now. Gnoll #04, fires his short bow at short range and missed Lo Shan! Gnoll #02, swings his bardische at Lo Shan but missed!   2 nd Attacks for Combat Round #01: Lo Shan, missed Gnoll #02 with the Kung-Fu Iron Fist move! Lord Cromther, slashed Gnoll #01 for 9 damage! Gnoll #06, fires his short bow and missed Lo Shan! Camlin, slashed Gnoll #01 with the +1 Calenyanda long sword for 18 slashing damage, defeating him! (Sword is now at +3 for damage)! Gnoll #03, fires his short bow and missed Lo Shan! Gnoll #04, fires his short bow and nails Lo Shan for 6 damage!   Combat Round #02: Lo Shan, delivers a Kung Fu Vitals Kick of 8 damage to Gnoll #02, defeating him! Lord Cromther, slashed Gnoll #03 with the two-handed sword for 15 damage! Gnoll #06, swings his battle axe, missing Lord Cromther! Camlin, fires his magical +1 Foeseeker longbow, striking Gnoll #06 for 15 damage! Xilicien, waits to see if and when the party needs a spell casted at the gnolls. Gnoll #03, swings his battle axe, missing Lord Cromther! Sheila, moves up a bit closer to the combat. Gnoll #05, swings his battle axe, missing Sheila! Gnoll #04, swings his battle axe, missing Camlin!   2 nd Attacks for Combat Round #02: Lo Shan, pounds Gnoll #04 for 11 damage with the Iron Fist move! Lord Cromther, swings his two-handed sword, missing Gnoll #03! Camlin, swings his +1 Calenyanda long sword missing Gnoll #04!   Combat Round #03: Lo Shan,  fumbles his Iron Fist attack move, breaking his hand in the process! Lord Cromther, swings his two-handed sword and missed Gnoll #03! Gnoll #06, swings his battle axe, missing Lo Shan! Camlin, slashed Gnoll #04 with the +1 Calenyanda sword for 11 damage! Xilicien, swings his magical Staff of Striking at Gnoll #05, only to miss him! Gnoll #03, swings his battle axe, missing Lord Cromther! Sheila, pounds Gnoll #04 with the magical +2 footman’s mace, dealing 8 damage, defeating him! Gnoll #05, swings his battle axe, missing Sheila!   Combat Round #04: Lo Shan’s Kung Fu Low Kick missed Gnoll #06! Lord Cromther, slashed Gnoll #03 with the two-handed sword for 9 damage! Gnoll #06, swings his battle axe, missing Lo Shan! Camlin, stabs Gnoll #06 with the +1 Calenyanda sword for 14 damage, defeating him! (Sword has +3 on damage now)! Xilicien, clobbers Gnoll #05 with the Staff of Striking, expending 3 charges, dealing 14 damage and defeating him! Gnoll #03, swings his battle axe, missing Lord Cromther! Sheila, swings her +2 footman’s mace at Gnoll #03, missing him!   Combat Round #05: Lo Shan, waps Gnoll #03 with the nunchaku for 6 damage, defeating him! End of Combat!
Sheila, prays to Ra, using a Cure Serious Wounds spell upon Lo Shan to heal back 11 hit points. Deathwalkers, painted with white and black chalk art and symbols, arrive at the scene questioning the party, wondering why they attacked. Lo Shan, tells them “This is a temple of Sertrous. We don’t like him”. Camlin says, “We heard a commotion and ran in here”. Deathwalker says, “I see. Who do you worship”?,  Lo Shan says, “The great Bureaucracy”. Deathwalker says, "I have never heard of this Bureaucracy, but if he is one against Xanathar and Sertrous, you have my blessing, but our leaders will not think kindly of this bloody mess in the temple”! Lo Shan says, “We will clean it up then”. Meanwhile a Purveyor of Mortality, a Deathwalker leader type hollers down the long hallway to his men, wondering what is going on in the temple area and is told there was an attack on the gnolls and that they are all dead, thus why they are not helping them. When asked if they saw who did it, the Deathwalker guards tell them that the party ran down the stairs on the south east side of the temple, (which leads to a location in the caverns of Thracia, underground). The deathwalkers are joined by a few more of them and they enter the temple and go down the stairs. Meanwhile the party checks to see if the Purveyor of Mortality is still around and when the coast is clear they proceed out of the compound pretty much the way they came in and head back to the Mongrelmen compound. The next day the party is in the south east of the Forbidden City (Thracia), with Lo Shan picking the lock on a door, rolling a 56% needing ≤ 62%, he was successful in opening it! Peeking inside Lo Shan sees that there are cells holding prisoners, the one closest is holding a grippli frogman.  As the party enters the jailhouse, voices can be heard speaking in Yuan-ti, but not understood by anyone. Camlin and Lord Cromther go down the aisle between the jail cells and the two Yaun-Ti Half-blood snakemen guards here  see them and get up from the table they were sitting at and come down the aisle at them! One of the jailers speaks in common, “Hey! What the hell! How did you get in here! I ask you to leave right now! This is a jailhouse”! The Yuan-Ti #01 then casts a Cause Fear Spell upon Lord Cromther, but being immune to fear, the spell does not work on him! Yuan-Ti #02, tries using the Suggestion spell upon Camlin and he rolls a 19 needing ≥ 13 for his saving throw vs spell, succeeding in shaking it off from affecting him! Meanwhile Lo Shan tries to pick open the lock on the Grippli’s cage, rolling a 63% needing ≤ 62%, he was unsuccessful in the attempt. The Yuan-Ti’s draw their weapons, one says, “You folks are going to have to leave here now!” Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01begins: Lo Shan fumbles in his attempt to do a Kung-Fu Iron Fist move, and stays on his feet to keep from stumbling after a successful dexterity save rolling 17 needing ≤ 17! YT HB #02, casts a Cause Fear spell at Lo Shan, who fails his saving throw vs spell, rolling an 8 needing ≥ 10. So he runs away in fear for 8 rounds (minutes in this case)! Sheila,  just moves up a bit. Xilicien, cast the knock spell on the grippli’s cell door, popping it open! Lord Cromther, swings his two-handed sword, missing YT HB #02! YT HB #01, casts Polymorph Other upon Camlin who rolls his saving throw vs spell, rolling a 14 needing ≥ 13, he is successful in shaking the spell off! Camlin, fires his +1 Foeseeker long bow, at YT HB #01 but missed!   2 nd Attacks for Round #01: Lord Cromther, swings and missed YT HB #02 with the two-handed sword! Camlin, fires his +1 Foeseeker long bow at YT HB #01at point blank range of 6 to 30 ft and hit’s for 13 damage!   3 rd Attacks for Round #01: Camlin, fires his +1 Foeseeker long bow, missing YT HB #01!   Combat Round #02: Lo Shan, is running away! Yaun-Ti Half Blood #02, swings his glaive, missing Lord Cromther! Sheila, casts a Hold Person spell upon YT HB #01, who rolls a saving throw vs spell of 8 needing ≥ 13 and is unsuccessful against the spell so he is held in place and cannot move! Xilicien, cast the Magic Missiles spell at YT HB #02, sending all 4 force missiles, dealing 12 total damage! Lord Cromther, slashed YT HB #02 with the two-handed sword for 15 damage! Camlin, fires the +1 Foeseeker bow at Point Blank Range 6 to 30 ft at YT HB #01 but missed!
2 nd Attacks for Round 2: Camlin, fires the +1 Foeseeker long bow at PBR, striking YT HB #02 for 7 damage! 3 rd Attacks for Round #02: Camlin, , fires the +1 Foeseeker long bow at PBR, striking YT HB #02 for 15damage!   Combat Round #03: Lo Shan is still running scared! YT HB #02, swings his glaive, missing Lord Cromther! Sheila, swings the +2 footman’s mace, missing YT HB #02! Xilicien, casts Melf’s Minute Meteors sending 3 meteors dealing 15 damage to YT HB #02! [Note:I forgot about the Saving throws of which the save DC goes up +2 after each successful hit!] Lord Cromther, stabs YT HB #02 for 8 damage with the two-handed sword, defeating him! Camlin, slashes the magically held YT HB #01’s throat to have him bleed out, defeating him! End of Combat! The party finds keys for the cells on one of the dead Yuan-ti and use them to free the prisoners here. They free a bound and gagged Yaun-Ti halfblood and find out he was thrown in for going against Xanathar and Sertrous. They tell him they are against them as well as asked if he would help them and he says yes. After freeing the others, they see they are natives from Tanaroa on the south peninsula of the Isle of Dread, others were captured off raided merchant ships, the rest are Forbidden City citizens. All were meant to be sold off as slaves.
