Lack of a feature is not a bug, but you can certainly request a feature. Do note that in addition to regular text, everyone has access to /me to create emote text. GMs also have access to /desc for descriptive text, and campaign owners who are Mentors can install API scripts which could potentially utilize /direct for raw HTML text.
