Hi folks, we have a DM and 2 players, we're looking for 3 more players. 5pm PST $12/session Here's a blurb from the game post: Looking for players who are interested in a classic long-term
campaign who are also willing to role-play off the beaten path to tell a
unique story. We begin this campaign at level 3 with the potential to
reach up to level 14+. All official content is allowed, supported by the
resources available in PHB, VGM, MToF, MooT, XgtE, Eberron and Tasha's
Cauldron (Unearthed Arcana is not allowed). Party killing is not allowed
unless all individuals involved agree beforehand including the DM.
There will be zero-tolerance for bullying, racism, sexism, or any
form of divisive attack against another player. Yes it's okay for your
character to hold some of these beliefs, but this isn't a place for
players to vicariously live it out themselves. Please try to be
respectful to everyone at the table.
Introduction
"Evil dragons stirred into action by their dark queen, Tiamat,
threatened the settlements of the Savage Frontier for a time.
Ultimately, they were defeated and forced to withdraw to their lairs,
while Tiamat was banished to the Nine Hells. Fear of the dragons' wrath
has faded quickly with the coming of a new threat: giants. The peoples
of the North are no strangers to giant incursions. Frost giants have
long claimed the Spine of the World as their demesne, and hill giants
are known to scrounge for food in the untamed hills. But now, in the
past couple of months, giants of every kind have emerged from their
strongholds in force to threaten civilization as never before - and not
just frost giants and hill giants, but also stone giants, fire giants,
and cloud giants. All of the giants are in an uproar. Reports of giant
attacks throughout the North have reached the coastal cities of Luskan,
Neverwinter, and Waterdeep, stoking fears that the giants are waging war
against humans, dwarves, elves, and other small folk." And here's a blurb about game expectations. Storytelling :
Without storytelling, D&D is a waste of time. Tell a story when you
interact with others, tell a story when you're in combat, and above
all, tell a story that invites others to be a part of it. "Is what I'm
doing fun for everyone else?" "Am I doing this to enhance the narrative,
or just because I can?" See the game as an ongoing chronicle of events
in a fantasy world and be a part of the mind that molds it. Character Development :
It is a skill to know when, where, and how to develop your character.
Too open, and your character becomes boring and maybe even annoying. Too
secretive, and your character becomes irrelevant and boring as well.
Don't be afraid to step into the spotlight when you need to and adapt if
what you expected doesn't always turn out to be. Listening and
committing to other character's developments will be the key to
developing your own character. Character development is something that
happens within the interwoven troupe, never alone. Team Player :
Respect each other's characters and pass the spotlight from player to
player. "How can I take this opportunity to involve everyone else?"
Encourage and intensify the moments of others and the same will be done
for you. There are a limited number of players which means there is no
room for anyone to be a wallflower. "Be the thunder, don't steal the
thunder" Campaign : Leveling will be purely milestone
based. If your character loves to instigate, keep in mind that the party
will most likely be fighting for their lives. This is not to discourage
combat, it is to encourage you to be creative in combat and rely on the
collective strength of your troupe. Music will always be playing to
help with immersion. Some settings and encounters will have musical
queues to help in role-play. With that said, immersion takes priority
over ruling mistakes. Unless absolutely critical, ruling mistakes should
be discussed during break or post-session. Details of your character
sheets will be policed from time to time but we will go by the honor
system. Please keep track of your Hit Points, Spell Slots, Inventory,
Attributes, etc... DM : The DM is not your enemy. In all
the preparations, the goal is always to create a more fun and intense
world for you. Everything from the rulings, to the descriptions, to the
plot is designed with the characters AND the players in mind. Please
respect the DM by being the best player you can be. Just as intentional
DMs motivate players, invested players motivate DMs. Pay attention to
the descriptions, take notes and help the DM tell an amazing story! Check out the link here if you're interested: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/291250/new-storm-kings-thunder-campaign
