Looking for experienced players to help new player with basics, like a D&D academy

Dad of 3, and my little group of friends want to start playing D&D, but we don't know what we are doing in the slightest! So I came here to see if I could jump in a campaign or just go over the basics (I was voted to be the DM as well). I have some reading material but more of hands on learner. Would be nice if I could get some help besides the YouTube or read more answer. FYI no D&D groups by me that I know of that take in new players, most want experience in general. Any help would be great

Dad of 4 here, we clearly have to stick together;-) Great to hear you want to start dnd, it's a great hobby, I might not be able to help with any actual playing time wise,  but I am happy to answer questions or to offer practical help. I could probably run a oneshot (single adventure not intending to chain together into a longer story) to try and introduce things.  Don't have a game to slot you into, but I could do it for your group so you all get a little exposure together (and maybe a peak or two at what I'm doing behind the scenes to help show what is involved in running). I work an office job in US eastcoast time, so a few hours in a weekday evening (or two evenings as learning takes longer to run) or a Saturday would work best for me.  I generally would use Discord for voice chat as it also gives a text chat for side conversations or notes (my contact info there is listed in my account profile, send me a friend request if my proposal sounds like it could work).
