I came up with an idea this morning that I wanted to throw out to see if there is interest.  The Island of Misfit Characters Did you create a great character for a game online where no one showed? Fall in love with a character of yours, only to see the DM disappear from Roll20 entirely? The Island of Misfit Characters can give you a place to play them once more! The idea is to bring together 4 or 5 strong DMs, who are open to a bit of Homebrew here and there, but no major homebrew additions. The Board, comprised of the DMs, the owner and an administrator (someone who runs the server, and knows the rules very well) would approve and maybe make slight suggestions on adjusting characters, but we would basically allow characters who have lost their other games, to play in our world. We could set up adventures of any level, so whether it was a low level character who's game fell apart, or a high level one where the DM ran out of ideas, they have a place to play. Any Homebrew allowed would be for that particular character only, and predominantly the abilities they already possess. Any future abilities that Homebrew allowed could be excluded, or modified by the Board. My thought is to set this in Wildemount, and the Board would determine whether it is a continent at war, or teetering on the edge.  Players would have to play in good faith. We want you to be up front and honest in bringing characters who were excluded from other games. While we understand that sometimes many characters are left without a game, bringing a slew of characters with wild Homebrew abilities would not be acceptable. Mostly this is for those characters who fall within the core rules of the D&D 5e universe, but we would certainly consider a few twists and turns on the norm. Players would later be able to create new characters as needed in the game, but those characters would be restricted to the accepted source books used in the campaign. Specifics will be determined (and possibly adjusted as we go on) by the Board. If you have interest as a player, or a DM, please respond to this posting. Preface your posting with [DM] or [Player] so that we know where your interest lies. It is anticipated that all DMs will also play in the games of other DMs. At this point, this is simply an idea. I welcome your input and constructive criticism of the idea, but please don't turn any one point into a battle or long winded discussion. We will work to sort out differences if the concept comes to life. As with any game, the intent is to create a place that is inclusive to all, and where everyone can come together to have fun!
