[LFG][Free][5e] Looking for 4 or 5 players to run long term homebrew game.

About the Game. Set in the recovering world of Karthan. The players will begin by accompanying a dying man on one final pilgrimage. Old wars reignite. Old wounds reopen. Old Adversaries re-emerge. Can the players stop the world from falling back into chaos and godly fire. The world of Karthan will grow and prosper or wither and die by your actions. The Party will begin at level 1. Anything from the Core books is allowed and I am willing to review/modify any other content for this game. I would prefer all players be 18 plus as more mature themes may come up. But I am willing to allow slightly younger players based on maturity. The World The world of Karthan is recovering from a cataclysmic war between the mortal races and the gods themselves. After the gods all but ended the world in godly fire most of them left the worldly plain leaving the mortals to fend for themselves. Most magical creatures went into hiding. In the 500 years since the fire fell two great powers have arisen: The Republic of Tel'Nodel and the Alereian Empire. They are locked in a cold war. Each cautious of the other. Me as a DM I am 32 Years old and have been playing D&D for upwards of 20 years. I have been DMing for about 7 years. I have played in many other systems. I belive that TTRPGs are all about collective story telling, and try to have a good balance of rp and combat. If you need a hack and slash to stay entertained this is not the game for you. Players. If This sounds like your kind of experience please respond with your info. Name: Discord: Experience: Character concepts: Its ok if you don't yet have one. We will work together to get you set up. A little about you as a person: Players of all levels will be welcomed I am more than happy to help new players find there way. Potential game time will be Tue or/and Thurs 6pm(ish) CST. I look forward to hearing from you.
Josh Trainer97#5798 Im not the most experienced player but i have played a decent amount of campaigns I will most likely be playing a wood elf ranger
Name: Ted/TwoWheelTed Discord: TwoWheelTed#3582 Experience: started off with plain ole Dnd with the red and blue books as a kid. Played 2nd in high school with some friends. Been playing 5e for about 5 years maybe. I've played some adventures league, one shots, one online campaign that lasted over a year, some at the local game store, and I DM on Saturdays for my kids and their friend on a different VTT. Character concepts: I have a couple different ideas. Though given the setting (sounds post-apocolyptic, I love those kinds of movies) I would want some time to mull it over A little about you as a person: Early forties, married, kids etc. Local business owner. I'm looking to expand my in game role playing and this sounds like it might be a good fit. Thanks for your consideration.

Name: Hila Discord:hilavitkutin#9389 Experience: I've been playing 5e for about 7 months now and I can say I'm honestly hooked. It's been happy barbarian times! Character concepts: As I've been playing barbarian, I'd like to try something different something more intelligent that can have an impact outside of combat. I would be interested in doing some form of multi-class, sorc warlock perhaps? A little about me: I'm a 24-year-old (M) from Finland, who is finishing university studies as of now. I'm a laid-back, easy to get along with type of guy who wants to play some DnD and learn something new from this interesting setting! Being a Finn would mean I have somewhat a thick accent, though to my understanding a Finnish accent is easy to understand. Additionally, the current planned session time would fall at 11 pm starting time for me, but I can still commit to 4h sessions! So planned time shouldn't be an issue. If you think I would be a nice candidate, I'd happily join. Thanks for your consideration.
Name:Tom-Erik Discord: Zalga#7980 Experience: Have played tabletop game for a good five or so years. from DnD 3.5E to 5 among CoT. Star wars and pathfinder. Character concepts: I am very flexible when it comes to making a character. I mostly ask the other players what they are making first then make one that would support and balance the group. A little about me. I am from norway and 28 years old guy that has too much spare time. Workflow is crawling to a halt so now I am on the hunt for some epic adventure with new people and maybe make friends along the way.
Name: Andrew Fenton Discord: tony4twenty #6497 Experience: Member since 12/06/20 \/ G GM of 0 games \/ 88 Hours Played \/ 17 Forum Posts - all of my time in D&D has always been on Roll20. Also I have a little extra from creating my own 5e universe which took some studying of both D&D and the new universe I've created. Character concepts: I usually dont make a character unless I know what everyone else is doing as I hate ending up in a group with 3 of the same classes lol A little about you as a person: Im into Roleplay alot. I might not change my voice or get dramatic but I get creative and invested. Im working on being more into voice acting and dramatic but Im trying to get more comfortable first. I REALLY enjoy outside of the box thinking, so Im not going to always attack simply by swinging a sword or casting a spell, I may want to try and break the beam above the enemies head in the cave so that the rocks above collapse and crush the enemy or enemies depending on how close together they are. I am very friendly and understanding so If anyone wants to say "hey i dont think thats the best idea" im going to listen to what they have to say and not just "do it anyways" Im 26 but turning 27 on 21st of this month. Im currently in a group for thursday sessions and they are going great but I need more in the week as I am in love with D&D now that ive been introduced to it earlier this year.
Name: Josh G Discord: I'll have to check - I have one but haven't used it in a while Experience: New to D&D but jumped in head first. Playing in my first campaign my little brother DM's, but it's much too inconsistent. Character concepts: I have several ready to go, and am definitely open to accommodate with a team build A little about you as a person: 40 yrs old, new to D&D but fell in love with it. I'm currently playing in a homebrew campaign my little bro (the DM) asked me to join after much hesitation from me. It's very fun and I'm loving it, but the other players (a cousin and brother's friends) are super non-committal and our sessions are few and far between lately, so I'm hoping to fill in the gap there. I'm very committed, prepared, organized and follow through. I'm also DMing my own family campaign for my wife and four kids that is super easy going and fun. I'm not super good at "becoming" a character (voices, acting, etc) but I try. I love RPing and getting into a character. When I play, I come prepared and make sure I know what's going on. I'm not one to sit around trying to figure out my next move.

Name: Mark Discord: Marksongs#7837 Experience: I've played D&D off and on since '79. I am still a bit new to 5e, but have played a few one shots, and have the PHB, DMG, & MM (at some point I would like to DM again). I have used roll20 a bit, but it has been a year or two since I last used it - I do tend to pick things up quickly, however. Character concepts - here are a few (I typically like to play human characters): 1. A Monk (Acolyte) character who voluntarily left his monastery due to the monastery being invaded and burgled while he was on guard duty. Technically, it was not his fault, but in order for the master who assigned him to the post to save face, he took the blame upon himself. However, a ceremonial weapon was stolen from the monastery as a result of the burglary, and the monastery has lost a lot of honor as a result. He would like to discover who took the weapon, and why, and return it in order to restore honor to his monastery. 2. A Druid (Outlander) character, who escaped being killed when his forest village was burned to the ground during a raid. He was found by a local druid, and decided to learn the deeper ways of nature from him. He has been travelling alone through the wilds for many years since, seeking clues as to who the raiders of his village were, and hoping to find out if his younger sister, who was taken capitve, is still alive... 3. A Bard (Charlatan) character, who makes his living from both locating and selling antiques, relics, books, and occasionally even (rumored to be) artifacts. He is well respected among the local lords and ladies, the latter of which are taken in by the stories of the many adventures he has had, as well as his natural charm! lol Anyway... if you think you see any plot hooks that you like in any of those, let me know! :D
Name:Jake Discord:JustJake#8633 Experience: ive been playing off and on both as player and DM since AD&D, spent alot of time in 3.5e and only just started heavily diving into 5e in the last year or so. Character concepts: im willing to play about any roll and can bring up a general character idea for whatever is needed. Some general ideas include Wildfire Druid, Forge Cleric, Conjurer Wizard, Samurai. Races and backgrounds will probably depend on what fits for the game. Note: i am only available to play in the evenings no earlier than 6pm MST. I can play any day other than Tuesday or Saturday.
Name: Connie Discord: Saloli Henecia(10k)#3063 Experience: played 1e and 2e every weekend from Friday night to Sunday night all through my Jr and Sr years in High School (87/88 - 88/89) In the last 2 yrs I have Played in 3, 5e Homebrew Campaigns and DMed an Acquisitions INC HomeBrew combination. Character concepts: I would like to play A Changling Monk that is Way of the Ascendant Dragon (UA) with a far traveler background. My monk as i see her Dual wields Fan Blades they would do typical dagger damage to start with however I would really like the weapons and skills with them to grow with my character like they can be refined with better metals or enchanted to do a d6 rather than a D4 at some point also I would like to also be able to modify them to return when thrown at some point. I am willing to RP training or seek Blacksmith or Mage that can assist with enhancements (If that's not possible I would at least like to reskin A set of monk weapons as fans). She would also carry a whip. The Draconic element My Monk would harness would be lightning. favored forms Elf, Gnome, Human different personas for each form. A little about you as a person: I am a 50yr old Mother of 4 Grandma of 3 soon to be 4. My Availability is open.
Name: Tyler Discord:ConscriptSpider#8402 Experience:Small bits and pieces but ive seen enough podcast and vids that im able to play decently Character concepts: Dragonborn monk aspiring to discover paths of power that lead him close to his dragon ancestors power A little about you as a person: a recluse who is unable to work atm and i love animals
Name: Jackson Discord: Wom#2583 Experience: Starting playing DnD and roleplaying games in general back in my senior year of highschool with some of my classmates in sessions hosted by a school faculty member. Since then I've played DnD and bits of other RolePlay based games fairly often, with most of my experience being over Roll20 due to a lack of people near my IRL to play with. Character concepts: I don't have much of an idea what character I would want to play at the moment but if you have space for me I'd love to talk about it and figure something out. A little about you as a person: I'm 21 and currently taking a summer class while waiting for the fall for classes to start back, classes will be online so I should remain available come that time.
Name: Chris Discord: Crash #0764 Experience: 40+ years Character concepts: I’m willing to play what the party needs, but really want to try a barbarian of some flavor (whatever works well with the setting). A little about you as a person: I’m an illustrator/comic creator that loves to be creative. I love to role play, and try out new characters.
Name: Ronaldo Discord: Cute Hairy Man#9091 Experience: Beginner: played a little bit of one campaign Character concepts: Nothing atm, want to try everything at some point. A little about you as a person: Warhammer fantasy fan that just recently got into dnd and am loving it so far. I am also a casual player in my 20s with a pretty open schedule.
Name: Connor Discord: del Tora#9442 Experience: Played on and off since I was younger. Got into Warhammer Fantasy TTRPG and have been getting back into DnD the last few years. Character concepts: Since I spend/spent most of my time DMing I'm practically full to bursting with character ideas, and would love to make anything that the party might need, I'm sure I have an idea for it. But for a random idea: Glax, a Kobold Oath of Conquest Paladin, Glax wants to bring greatness to himself, and by extension, Kobolds everywhere. He heard the stories as a hatchling, and wants to remind the world that Kobolds are the heirs of dragons. In tune with Kurtulmak, the God of Kobolds, he swore his oath to conquer the lands and bring the order and justice that only a clan-loving Kobold could know to the lands. Obviously his desire to be heroic will clash with his species natural tendencies towards cowardice, and I would love to have any of my characters backstory have some more involvement with the world. A little about you as a person: Just a dude in my 20s looking to have some fun. Recovering designated DM.
Name: Ashley Discord: msao19#7489 Experience: I have been playing dnd steadily for about 5 years now and have even done my fair share of online twitch stream campaigns. The most recent that I just left was a dnd twitch stream called 'Starry Seas' that ran for about 60 or so episodes. Character concepts: I do have a character that I've been itching to play that works with the concept which is my half-elven life cleric Desdemona. Her deity is Pelor but I am willing to change it considering it's homebrew. If you need more information, here's her backstory but feel free to reply with any questions. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WS9HxX9vWP19u5r7d75SCAivnKmPcHnOl-pXsTcCSbs/edit?usp=sharing A little about you as a person: I love roleplaying, possibly because I was a former theatre kid. I work as an educator during the day so the weeknights would help. I live on the east coast, as well. Ummm also I like to think that I'm a super nice person who loves to interact and creative amazing and thrilling stories together as a team. I'm also on tiktok so I would 100% make tiktoks dedicated to this campaign.
Name: Branden Discord: Alanth#5461 Experience: I have most of my roots in old 3.5E back when I was in high school but for the past year or so I've gotten back into the game. Played in a 5E that sadly didn't work out due to scheduling issues and have been running a Curse of Strahd game for a bunch of friends from WoW since September. I'm also running a Blades in the Dark game on Friday's for a different group. Character Concepts: I have a war wizard concept I've been dying to play. I have a playlist made for him and everything with a background ready to go! Which may fit suspiciously well into the world as you described as it deals with his military service, desertion from his nation for reasons and the ward he's protecting along the way. A little about you as a person: I'm a (sadly) middle aged dad who's been pretending to be some sort of fantasy elf online for upwards of 20 years. I'm the type of nerd to have written far, far too much fiction about his stupid World of Warcraft character. I love getting along with people and telling stories together. Collaborative fiction is my jam.

Name: Agustin Discord: Agustin#4358 Experience: Have played before a lot I'd say, but it was a friend's homebrew hoping to learn more about DND and find friendly people to adventure and experience an awesome story! Character concepts: Hoping to work it out together A little about you as a person: I am 22, a big fan of fantasy. Easy-going, enthusiastic and humorous. I always try my best to meet schedules and am very responsible and respectful.
Name: Nathaniel Discord: Tazzz#5468 Experience: Sadly, I have only played a single session. But I have been watching campaigns a lot recently, and have always wanted a group to play with. Finally remembered that technology exists and real-world friends aren't necessary :) Character concepts: The character I've been slowly creating over the last few weeks is a Dragonborn Druid/Barbarian. Self-imposed isolation in nature to get away from the horrors of civilization, and uses druidic powers to live in harmony. However, he goes into a nearly blind rage when innocents, especially animals and children, are being harmed. I think I could easily finagle him to fit within the world you've presented, but I am also very open to going with a completely different character. About me: 29, male/he/him, Mental health counselor working primarily with children (play therapy). This has helped reinvigorate my imagination, but it would be nice to utilize it in more invigorating ways (D&D obviously!) Pretty chill and relaxed, and am professionally trained to get along with people. Which can't hurt, really.

Name: Keira Age: 30+ Discord: TeaMistress#5893 Experience: I’ve been playing Roll20 5e games for about 2 years now and have played various editions of tabletop D&D for significantly longer. I’m definitely not a rules lawyer and I’ve made it a point of not memorizing every bit of every sourcebook out there because I want to preserve as much of the wonder and surprise at the gaming process as possible. Character concepts: I’m very into working with you to help my character fit into the campaign that you have planned, but here’s a few concepts offhand that I’m interested in exploring… Elven Shamanistic Artificer: Tallin the Reclaimer uses bone, wood, vines, leather, and the castoffs of civilization to craft wondrous animalistic forms, armor, weapons, and other creations. She calls on the spirits of places lost to the spread of cities to inhabit her creations and empower them, while offering the spirits friendship, a new sense of purpose, and new places to call home. Friendly Gnomish Archaeologist Necromancer: Tessa Trueluck is fascinated with ancient cultures and sees magic as the best way of learning who/what/when/where/why and everything else about how these long past civilizations flourished. Why spend years of her life digging through musty old books when she can be out there digging up bones and simply asking these people what their lives were like? Honorable Tiefling Psi Warrior: Zurikiil Exire hails from a long line of tiefling warriors and mages who believe that their ancestor fiends were former celestials who had been cast from the heavens for their sins. Calling themselves the Blades of Azzerian, these tieflings strive to find the light within themselves, believing that a grace once lost can be reclaimed through honor, selflessness, and glory. Zuri yearns to prove that someone with the blood of fiends in her veins can still earn her wings and fly. A little about you as a person: Long time RP player, nerd, and lover of collaborative worldbuilding and storytelling. When I’m not playing D&D, treasure hunting at thrift stores for fun and profit, or rubbing my cat’s belly, you’ll probably find me writing, or modding Skyrim. When gaming you can count on me to show up reliably and on time and ready to have fun, collaborate, cooperate, encourage, and include others in the joy of building a world and a grand adventure together. You can count on me *not* to be a self-involved murderhobo min/maxxer or to look for cheats and loopholes to break the game or otherwise be adversarial to the GM and my fellow players. Interparty conflict can be fun if it helps the characters evolve and come to understand different points of view. But it shouldn’t be a goal in itself or be so intense that it eclipses anyone’s enjoyment of the game. I enjoy text RP and player banter between sessions and like to be involved in the game in a deeper way than just showing up for a few hours once a week. If this sounds like a good fit for your campaign, I really hope to hear from you soon!
Name: James Discord: Jymerric#5434 Experience: I've been playing 5e D&D for the last 4 years over the course of 4 campaigns (and like a billion one-shots) Character concepts: Half-Elf Circle of the Shepard Druid Elliot Owens grew up with his mother and father in a small cabin in the woods, miles from the nearest town. There, his parents taught him to worship the land and to treat it well, and that it would take care of him in kind. As a young man he became fascinated with the idea of stories that might be lost to time or events future generations might forget about. Now as a 23 year old man, he's leaving home to visit ruins and dungeons (preferably with some friends) to learn more about and record the ancient history of the world.
Name: Cameron Discord: Grim_Heliot#6721 Experience: I have played 1 campaign for a few months but i would still consider myself new Character concepts: A druid satyr that is hell bent on revenge and made a packet with a fiend to become part warlock A little about you as a person: 20, he/him, Fresh graduate from school looking for work.
