Hello friends! I am Glass, and I am going to be starting a new run of a Matthew Perkins inspired version of 'The Lost Mines of Phandelver". You can check out his video series on the campaign here: Matthew Perkins LMOP playlist , but if you have any interest in playing in my campaign and still being surprised; I suggest you don't until we finish! That being said, this video series is full of GREAT tips for new and veteran DM's alike. Now that I have cited my main source of overhaul inspiration, on with the ad! Before going any farther, I would like to put out there that THIS WILL BE A PAY TO PLAY game. I will be asking for $5 USD each session, or $15 USD for 4 sessions. Session 0 will be free. We will create characters & explore a bit of lore. We may begin the adventure in session 0 depending on how long character creation takes, and if so, there is still no charge for session 0. I would like to play on either Thursday, or Saturday; and I would prefer sometime between 4pm EST and 7pm EST for a start time. This is negotiable however. Reasons for pay to play: -You get a DM who has competently run this adventure twice through now, and is confident in my ability to deliver consistent, custom, and quality content. -You get the product of a lot of time that I put into expanding the adventure. Longer campaign, with a higher level cap. -Your character will be written into the lore of the story, and your choices will affect the the world and it's history. -Recap & Trivia rewards in game, as inspiration cards. These cards have the power to influence a situation in your direction, whether through direct force or subversive maneuvers... -Teaser Trailers when certain events are transpiring around the map, while the party makes their way through peace and peril. -Homebrew content & side adventures added to again increase length and level cap I am looking for 4 players (possibly 5, but 4 is preferable) to run a weekly or bi-weekly game on either Thursdays, or Saturdays. I am off of work both days, and so the start times can be pretty flexible. I would prefer something around 4-7 PM EST as a start time, but I can be malleable. This is a high fantasy and magic adventure, so be prepared for anything and everything on your way to becoming the adventurer you always dreamed of being! Below is a description of the actual campaign, and here is a link to it on roll 20: Phandelver's Lost Mine --------------------------------------------------- A pair of Dwarven brothers known as the Rockseekers have uncovered something that was thought to be lost to the ages. A place of great and terrible power, brimming with artifacts and magical secrets for the taking. By their calculations, none of you will ever have to work again after this. This is...'The Big One'. The brothers have hired you; an adventurer on the rise. to help them deliver tools and excavation equipment to the dig site. You will be working with three other adventurers, all of whom are connected in some way to the Rockseeker brothers personally. You reach the city of Neverwinter without issue, having received an invitation to meet Gundren Rockseeker at a tavern called The Donkey's Trough. Here, he plans to discuss the details with you, and to introduce you to the rest of your team. Join me, Chris, your Dungeon Master and guide into a world of high fantasy and magic. Play as just about any race or class (With DM approval)! Gain access to forgotten magics and abilities not listed in the players handbook! You will discover a plot quite different than what you may have experienced before; even if you have played this exact adventure! Can you and your team successfully gain entrance to the mine and claim its' riches? There's only one way to find out... Specifics: -The game will be played weekly, and the time frame I'm looking for is a 3 hour window on Thursday or Saturday evenings, Start time from 3PM EST to 7PM EST, with the end time being between 7PM EST & 10PM EST respectively. -The first session will be free, and will consist of some lore introduction and character creation. You may feel free to come prepared with a level 1 character already created, but it may need adjusting a bit to fit the game parameters. If there is enough time, we will start the adventure after character creation. If not, we will start the next week with the beginning of the adventure! -Payment will be due either at the beginning of the month if you pay up front ($15 a month), or before each session on Thursday if you pay weekly ($5 a week) paypal or cash app is accepted, and we can discuss my info for that once we get the first session (which will be free) scheduled. Bonuses: -Inspiration Cards. Unique cards that allow you to gain advantage on your next d20 roll, or other effects ranging from: extra damage, healing, or even long rest benefits! -Homebrew plot. The plot of this adventure has been edited and extended heavily. What was normally a simple and straight forward series of quests, is now a story full of mystery. intrigue, and hard choices that will affect the outcome of history as we know it! -Opportunities to earn extra rewards through RP in discord (optional) -Teasers at the end of each session, foreshadowing events to come. -Flexible Magic System. Have you ever wanted to create your own spells, or slightly modify the effects of pre-existing ones? With this magic system, the limit is your imagination.....and of course your dice rolls. Here's how it works: Each caster class will be allowed to choose 2 schools of magic to specialize in. You may still learn and cast spells normally that do not fall into these two classes. However, With these two schools of magic, you can describe what you want to accomplish with your magic within the limits of those schools; even combining them in some cases. You then choose a level to cast the spell at, ranging from cantrip up into your high spell slot levels. The higher the level spell slot you spend, the more you will be able to get away with. You will then roll a D20 plus your spell casting modifier to see how well you pull off the desired effect. BE WARNED! THIS COULD GO BADLY FOR YOU! For example: Jeff the wizard wants to use his transmutation magic to infuse Stan the fighters' sword with fire. He spends a first level spell slot, rolls a D20+ his spell casting modifier. If he rolls high, he may set Stan's sword ablaze, adding fire damage to his attacks. If he rolls low, he may accidentally set Stan's hand on fire; causing him to drop the sword. This is an optional feature that requires comprom ise from both the DM and the player. If it seems to be causing more trouble than it is worth, we can always scrap it as well. Just note; if your party chooses to use this magic system....so will the enemies you face. ------------ My qualifications as a DM: I have been playing D&D a lot during the pandemic, and have put in over 600 hours in the last year. I have played multiple different classes and multiple different campaigns, so I have a solid amount of material to pull from. I have run this adventure for two other groups before, one of which has decided to keep playing on beyond the end of the adventure (which is possible with this game as well). I have a no tolerance policy for hate speech of any kind, and this is a friendly place for anyone in the LBGTQIA community. This is a place to come be anyone you want, without being judged or mocked for it. We are here to have fun, and bring a little light into an otherwise chaotic world. Show respect and treat each other how you would want to be treated and everyone should have a great time! LET'S ROLL SOME DICE!
