I bought The Malleus Monstrorum recently. I have an issue. The keeper Rulebook came with a handful of monsters who now have updated versions of them on Malleus Monstrorum. While I can choose Malleus Monstrorum version in a dropdown in the compendium itself, I cannot drag and drop the new versions onto the canvas, it automatically reverts to the base Keeper Rulebook ones. Help?

Compendium drops won't overwrite anything with an identical name that already exists in your journal.  This is to prevent overwriting any custom changes you may make to creatures.  Delete the old version from the journal, and then you should be able to drag in the new version.

Afraid it isn't a journal issue but a compendium issue in itself. For instance you have a "Deep One" from the Keeper Rulebook, and then a Deep One from Monstrorum. It automatically reverts to the Keeper Rulebook version no matter which of them you pick from the compendium.

If you don't have any in your journal to begin with, then that certainly is an issue if it spawns the wrong one.  If you haven't already, you might want to submit a ticket through the Help Center.  Seems like some of the compendiums are maintained more by Roll20, and some more by the publisher, so submitting the ticket should ensure it gets to the right people.

Hi JuicyDoubled Cryptkeeper! I've also got definite preferences on which token art to use, not to mention that sometimes there are differences in a stat block between sources. We're aware of a problem that can cause the wrong token to be dragged to the VTT from the Compendium. This is something that we're actively working to correct. While I don't have an ETA right now I can say that a fix is in the works! Unfortunately I don't have a workaround to provide for this but we'll announce the fix in our Change Log  as well as the Release Notes post in the forum once it's been resolved.
