I am looking for an entertaining game of D&D to enjoy after a long week at a stressful job. I enjoy playing many RPG's and war games and have been doing so for 40+ years, yet somehow I have never become a power gaming obsessive. I am looking for a few hours each week to enjoy some high fantasy hero time in worlds where problems are simple and solutions are often found in one's own sword hand. Here is the character I played in my last campaign, which I had to give up due to scheduling issues. The background is something I imagined for myself--the DM had his own background for the character and I went with that while we played, but this is what I imagined as I was playing: Character name: Rhogar Talldwarf Gender: M Race: Dragonborn Age:20 Starting class/subclass: Fighter/ Eldritch Knight. Personality: Raised among dwarves this Dragonborn believes himself to be a dwarf and behaves in a very stereotypical dwarflike manner. He mistakenly believes that he has the innate stone cunning of the dwarves and this led to many mishaps and misadventures in the mine where he was raised. His adoptive parents were patient with Rhogar and kept him busy hauling water and in working in shafts that they meant to collapse in any case. Due to his size strength and battle effectiveness Rhogar was tolerated by the Dwarven households in the Stonebreaker clan. However, once Rhogar was old enough to notice that all the dwarves wearing beards weren't all boys there was something of a scandal. It seems he took notice of Roxie Stonebreaker, the Chief miners daughter, and she took notice of him in return. Once the scandal became known to both parents Rhogar was signed to a mercenary contract and shipped out of the mine. He still sends letters to Roxie and she sends letters back in return but arrangements must be made to keep such contacts secret. Rhogar is a good tall dwarf and regularly writes home to his mom and includes gold whenever he can. Appearance: A Silver Dragonborn Personality, Attitude and Quirks (if any): Rhogar truly believes he has the stone sense of his adopted clan and will become convinced that he is able to detect passages and treasure in rocky terrain. He fights much like a Dwarven Defender. He was not raised dragonborn so he is very naive about draconic culture. I've had a hankering to play a bard character who is a failed wizard and ended up working in the academy library getting mages to return overdue materials, such a character could also be a rogue/arcane trickster. I am pretty flexible about what character I play as I have played many things, but I tend towards fighters, rogues, rangers and paladins when given latitude to do so. I would love to play a monk, but I've never rolled a character with three high stats to make the monk class work properly.
