Depends on your budget. If you are just a player without a lot of money, I'd say no, don't bother - although it does support roll20 which in turn support you but looking at it from a strictly selfish perspective I'd say no. If you're a GM, maybe. I mean I didn't use Dynamic Lighting much but I felt like I owed it to roll20 when I got supporter level. I mean, let's face it, lots of game time and all, allows me to play RPGs with people even though I live far from my friends atm, lots of hours every month? Come on, just drink a few less coffees in your month :P But yeah also the extra storage may come in handy if you play with a lot of content. I'd say that the real experience comes with Mentor. I stopped for 2 months and just recently started playing again and oh boy do I love those API. I paid for a whole year. Lots of money to cough up on the spot, but well worth it.
