GAME SLOT HAS BEEN FILLED. CAN ONE PERSON CHANGE THEIR FATE? "Welcome to Exandria, the Material Plane created by Matthew Mercer and originally shaped by his crew of zany friends. Our story begins in Wildemount. In the centuries since the gods sealed themselves away from the Material Plane via the Divine Gate, sentient life has risen up to reclaim this rocky continent. To the southwest, sheltered by the Cyrios Mountains, the bustling city-states of the Menagerie Coast make trade with the countless civilizations of nearby continents, absorbing traditions and currency alike into a prosperous melting pot of culture united by the Clovis Concord. Farther inland stretches the massive region known as Wynandir, dominated by the Dwendalian Empire in the west and by the badlands of Xhorhas in the east. The year is 840 P.D., or Post-Divergence. Until recent years, the Empire and Xhorhas maintained a frigid peace. Recently, however, with the theft and subsequent retrieval of a priceless cultural artifact, tensions boiled over into outright war, primarily concentrated around the Ashkeeper Peaks that divide them. After the return of the artifact and tense talks, a tenuous peace was once again established between the two nations and has continued for the past 3 years. The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this mighty champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him It's here we set our scene, within the nation of Xhorhas. Near the roaming village of Urzin, which slowly ambles through the wastes atop the massive, mossy shells of horizonback tortoises. The village’s elder seer, the goblin warlock Bol’bara, has gone missing. In the political absence of the champion chief of Urzin, Sunbreaker Olomon, the village’s proud and protective acting leader is Ogre Lord Buhfal II. He has sent out a call for outsiders to help resolve their plight. Perhaps you are mercenary adventurers seeking work, or you might simply look the part. What is important is that you're strangers to Urzin and you're looking for work." # THE CAMPAIGN - The campaign will take players from level 1 through to level 20. - The first 12 will take players through the exciting new adventure module from Critical Role and Matt Mercer. - It will span the continents of Exandria, from Xhorhas to Marquet and then beyond. My focus is always on running an engaging, entertaining game with a narrative that players will want to engage and contribute to. I've played and in the last decade in particular run a lot of games. Mostly within the realm of World of Darkness and D&D. In the past I've been responsible for constructing and implementing rules for a shared setting within Vampire: The Requiem in a shared setting across the UK. Within that I've organised, written and rant weekend events with more than a 100 attendees. Since the beginning of the pandemic I've moved more into the online sphere, first to keep engaged with my friends and the games I was running at the time. I've since expanded my circle. running for strangers who are looking for a safe space to game. I've got over a 1000 hours now of running online experience. I own all the D&D sourcebooks on DnD Beyond and the membership to share. In addition I have a lot of additional content and tools I've collected over the years from DM's Guild and DriveThruRpg. As of May 2022 I have finished running a Curse of Strahd and Tyranny of Dragons campaign both started early 2020. # PLAYER REVIEWS I tend to go on a bit much, especially when trying to sell myself or style, so I thought I'd let some of my players do it for me. - "Nick always plans and executes really well thought out and fun adventures. He likes to get everyone involved and adapt to peoples play styles. Nick listens to and works with the players both individually and as a group. - Matt - "Nick isn't worried about calling someone/something out or to correct something if it needs it. He's new player friendly and basically makes up really fun, well run campaigns with an emphasis on the narrative." - Michael - "Nick is patient, attentive and willing to run with the hair-brained schemes his players come up with." - Steff - "Nick does funny NPC voices. He has good attention to detail and pays attention to character backstory. He's also very good at combat running." - Marco - "Nick always comes to the table fully prepared with solid sessions planned out fully. He does great character voices that immerse you in the moment. He's fair on his rulings and always clear and concise on his reasoning for any decision he makes. His encounters are fun and sometimes brutal but that is half of the enjoyment. I love playing in his campaigns and hope to continue to do so as long as he runs in them." - Mark # WHY PAY TO PLAY? Put simply: There just aren't enough experienced and committed DMs to run free games for the increasing number of people who would like to play D&D online. Free games fill up fast, and they often end just as quickly because there is no investment by the players and no incentive for the DM to commit long term. Here are some of the reasons why a game run by a professional DM can provide a superior experience for players who want to simply relax and have fun playing with the same group every week: - A paid DM has the incentive to show up prepared and provide an outstanding gaming experience week after week. - Charging a small fee per person virtually eliminates busted games due to player no-shows. - Most people who are willing to pay a modest fee tend to approach the game with a more mature attitude. - Players who have an investment in the game typically don't cause disruptions by quitting impulsively when something doesn't go their way. - Material costs associated with playing in a high-quality game are covered. - Players are not required to make any additional purchases in order to participate. - Access to all relevant sourcebooks is provided free of charge via D&D Beyond. - Official modules, sourcebooks, maps, etc. cost money. I pay for all this out of what you pay me. # BEGINNERS WELCOME! Everyone is welcome in my games, whether you have little experience playing D&D or new to playing online. I have multiple games running and almost half my players were either new to the roleplay or gaming online. # REQUEST AN INVITE TO JOIN To request an invite to join, please send me a private message with the following: **Your name:** **Your Discord ID:** (include the 4 numbers to the right of the # sign): **Campaign/date/time:** Call of the Netherdeep and Beyond, Tuesday at 10:30 AM Pacific / 11:30 AM Mountain / 12:30PM Central / 1:30 PM Eastern / 6:30PM GMT **Your online D&D experience:** none / beginner / intermediate / expert **Your overall D&D experience:** none / beginner / intermediate / expert **Do you understand the game costs $50 (USD) per month per player via PayPal?** **What are you looking for in a gaming experience?** Note: If you get an error trying to transmit your application via private message, you may post it here instead.
