The Corruption of Silone is a dark, high fantasy, post-apocalyptic sandbox campaign with heavy topics and moral ambiguity. Set in a homebrew world years in the making with a rich and vast lore, CoS is a 5th Edition D&D campaign that has been running for the past 1.5 years. The players are currently at level 8 and we are looking for another to join the adventure! Roleplaying is high with the expectation of staying in character as much as possible and character arcs are weaved into the main campaign story. Combat is tough and occasionally deadly, and the consequences of your actions and choices are not forgotten or dismissed. Death is permanent in this campaign, so make your choices carefully... In recent history of Silone, a mere 200 years ago, was the Epsilonian Uprising. Led by a popular Warlord from Gurst, he led a vast army to the gates of Ikald to take the Great City. The War at the Gates lasted a year before the Epsilone forces were crushed by the elven King Nidas. As the dust settled, the King decreed users of Magic and Martial training be only allowed in royally mandated institutions, and enforced a penalty for everyone else. These academies of learning brought forth prosperity for chosen towns and cities as folk with coin and talent flocked to civilisations hoping to become someone of worth for the crown. The disarmament of magic and martial talents ushered in a period of 200 years of peace, which lasted until 20 years ago at the coming of the second uprising and the fall of Upsilone at the hand of a warlord named General Kalis at the sacking of the capital, Ikald. Recently the continent of Silone has been devastated by years of claimed spoils. Towns and cities involved in the conflict 20 years ago are either razed, occupied or complicit with the new rulers of Silone. Kalis' totalitarian rule has made living hard for those looking to live a life of peace and "Ravagers", splinter groups from the former Epsilonian army, roam the lands with impunity and freedom. It is a time of lawlessness and the weak are exploited greatly, some find refuge within crumbling walls or groups offering a heavy price to join. Further to this, a strange new disease has been encountered that has not reacted to traditional methods of curing. With magic users rare and dwindling, hope and optimism is low and many pray to the gods in desperation for a miracle. About us : I’ve been playing D&D for close to 9 years and this is the 4th time of running this campaign in the 5th edition system. I love the concept of improvised storytelling within a world I’ve created and I do so with a fairly high level of articulation and wordsmithing. My players are all lovely people (2 guys, 2 girls) that have been playing together since before the start of this campaign. Requirements to join are: Well spoken English A commitment to an ongoing campaign that runs weekly on Tuesday evenings (6pm GMT) Given the adult nature of topics in the campaign you must be over 18 as the story utilizes described violence and dark themes to give the required atmosphere Any triggerable topics should be mentioned before accepting any invitation, but rest assured sexual content is always a fade to black (ew!) Sessions are streamed on Twitch with voices only, which is done on Discord, which you should be ok with A decent microphone A willingness to engage in the world and invest in a serious character A love of roleplaying with a maturity that this isn’t a game you “win” (powergamers/minmaxers ye be warned!) Origins should consist of where your character came from, what they were doing at the time of the invasion, how they have managed to survive until now and what was their call to adventure (motivation) at this point in time. Write a compelling backstory and it will greatly help your chances!
