Hello everyone! My newly
established group is looking for one more interested player! We are just starting
and have had a few sessions but sadly one player must drop due to circumstances
outside the group.
Allow
me to introduce myself. My name is Zeb and I have been roleplaying and
game mastering for over (cough!) 27 years! Crap I’m old. So, with
that in mind, I'll give you a brief overview of my experience: 1. I started game
mastering with Marvel Superheroes (1986 publication) that I found at a garage
sale when I was 15 (1996), that my friends and I would play during lunch
periods in high school. 2. I played in AD&D
(2e) for many years (16'ish) 3. I game mastered a 6 yearlong
campaign of Legend of the Five Rings (d10 edition). 4. I also have game
mastered 3rd edition D&D, 3.5 D&D, Pathfinder 1e, and now
D&D5e. 5. I currently run
Starfinder as well as a Curse of Strahd campaign on alternating Sundays with
old high school buddies. The
current game I'm recruiting for is a conversion of AD&D (2e) Ravenloft
material to D&D 5th edition. Since the material is Ravenloft,
there will be some gore, body horror, cult stuff, social evils, and general
horror scenarios in this game. 18+ is a must. This will be a long-running campaign, 6 to 12
months depending on player urgency with the story. Interested? Read
more below about the campaign and contact me! I will respond to set
up a time to chat on Discord about the game, and material that the campaign
will involve. The
Setting- The campaign itself
will stretch across several Domains of Dread listed in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft
and will allow players to grow their characters from levels 5 to 18+. Ravenloft is an extremely flexible setting
allowing for characters from any setting to join. (i.e. Forgotten Realms, Eberron,
Ravnica, etc.) As DM, I allow new
characters to be from any Wizards of the Cost published setting including
Ravenloft itself if you so choose. I
also allow any class, race, background, and rule set from WotC published
material. As a new player you
have full agency of creative control and flavor over your character. My favorite saying as a DM: “Flavor is
Free!” I will work with you to set aside
a few hours to have a character-building session outside the campaign’s normal
day/time. During our character-building session, we will talk about house
rules, homebrew content that the game is using, as well as level 6 options for
gear and wealth. Game
Day, Time, Language, and Cost Weekly on Fridays 7:30pm
est to 12am est. I speak English and sadly no others, so the game will be
run in English. We are a free to play group! We use Roll20 for the
game and Discord for voice chat. I will
be on camera, but video is not required for other players.
My
Promise to You- I have spent many
hours developing this campaign but I'm open to feedback if things don't seem
right or the story has a plot hole, so I'm dedicated to having fun. I run
open, sandbox, player-centric games that uses timers and triggers for events to
make the world seem more alive. I enjoy developing collaborative
personalized story arcs with players that result in awesome character
development and special rewards. Also, during a session, I try to
spotlight every character in some way. I follow the rules presented in
the players handbook and the dungeon maters guide plus any other official
Wizards of the Coast books. If a rule comes into question, we research it
and adjust gameplay as needed. I can teach and instruct you how to use
Roll20 as well as the rules for D&D5e. I will also cover horror
themes during our 1-on-1 session to make sure you are comfortable with the
material we will be interacting with. Expectations- Have fun. Be
engaged. Be respectful. This is my hobby; I love game mastering...
Other people roleplay to blow off steam or for much needed social interaction
with like-minded people. Frankly, we are all here to have fun, myself
included. There should not be a "Me vs the GM" mindset
here. I am not your enemy... I mean yes, I will try and kill the
characters... but not in a mean or spiteful way.
