Hello potential dungeoneers! I'm posting because my new(ish) Thrice-Monthly gaming crew is looking to potentially add a couple players for our upcoming foray into the world of Golarion.  We will be playing **Rise Of The Runelords for Pathfinder 1st Edition using the Roll20 Marketplace Official Module.  It will be mostly Core-Only, with select options from the Advance Player's Guide**.  No other material is allowed for this beyond the Core and APG  to keep it easy to reference and avoid over-complication.   We are older folks, (30+) and cut our teeth on games long before Critical Role, which means it overall skews less into hours of improv theatre territory and more into a 40/60 blend of  RP/tactical combat, smart adventuring choices, and some good old fashioned rollable randomness.  The dice fall where they may, characters can die, no one is safe, no one character is pandered to, etc remain the laws of the land.  Equip smart and work together well or you will not last! I'm not saying there is anything wrong with either playstyle, I'm merely being honest and upfront to avoid personality clash.  I think it's important to establish expectations from the jump...if your mental picture is Anime-Inspired, Sailor moon style characters, that may not gel when the rest of the group has a theme more grimdark-y, or Games-Of-Thrones-ish, you know?  Just Sayin'. I am looking for one or potentially two people to fill out the party ranks.  It's important to me and the rest that personalities gel, so I will chat with you a bit on Discord to gauge your interests and what not and see if it works out. The day/time is: **3 Tuesdays a month, 7 PM to 10 PM EST**. It usually works out to 2 Tuesday game sessions in a row, one off.  We are looking to start gaming the last week of August, with a potential 'session zero' the week prior, though mainly a "let's get up and chat" session as Character Gen is done on Discord over the coming weeks so you can work out strategic ways to equip and balance the party. My discord handle is **LarryChristmas#1510**. I do not want you to pitch a character to me.  How can you pitch a character if you have no idea what the other people in the group plan on playing, what skills they have, how they fit into the background of the story, etc?  You can't.  To me, asking to bring a specific character to a game is like saying your character is more important than the group as a whole from the very beginning, and guess what...it is not.  Pitch me YOU as a person and personality to fit into a fun, casual gaming group.... Our group's preferences and interests run the gamut and include Appendix N style fantasy novels, grimdark settings, "ten foot pole" style dungeon delves, sword and sorcery epics, 70's airbrush style art, home cultivation of cannabis and fungi, miniature painting and wargaming, sci-fi movies, Ralph-Bakshi style animation, music of all sorts, and a couple of us are really good at Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds style VTTs. Again, I hope this doesn't come across as a grognardian old-dude-shakes-fist-at-cloud diatribe...I just think it's important to set expectations and not waste time.  If you are not at all interested in the same things as the groups (mentioned above), probably not a good fit, and that's ok! Best part about this hobby is there is a game for everyone out there. So if you like classic dark fantasy inspired dungeon delving, dangerous combat with rewarding storylines and high quality production value, a game of pure escapism with no real world analogues...if you are into Robert E Howard, Michael Moorcock, Grant Morrison, Fred Saberhagen and may or may not own a Hawkwind album...if you get a rush looking at a filled out characters sheet and know you always have rope on you, and you honestly cant stand Mr. Mercer, this may be the game for you! Hit me up, either via PM here or on Discord... Hope to hear from you!
