does anyone else have issues with dynamic lighting not working as in every video

my issue is I just purchased dynamic lighting. and as soon as I tries to put it on a map I was heavily disappointed when I noticed I could not make lines in which the light would be blocked. the players view when I use Ctrl+L i see that their view goes through everything and i cannot make lines to block view such as with walls or doors.
Make sure: Your lines are on the Dynamic Lighting layer, and Dynamic Lighting is enabled for the page you are working on.
Ctrl-L does not give you a player's view. It gives you a token's Line of Sight, which is an important distinction: 1. It will show you everything on the GM layer, which will not be visible to players. 2. If a player controls more than one token with vision, then they will see from all those tokens at the same time. I strongly suggest you use a Dummy Account to test players' view while setting up Dynamic Lighting. I'm guessing that Jim R. is correct with his suggestions of the layer and/or page settings.

A dummy account is best for this. I thought I'd also point out you can switch your account out to a player's account (and then back again) on the same game using the settings:

When using a dummy account, you can actually edit permissions on any character to include the dummy account and see the DL experience of that particular character, updated live. It's a good way of checking each character in an important DL setup. If you are still having issues, you could post some screen shots of page and token settings. Finally, here is a "why can't my players see anything?" checklist. The important thing is to verify . Don't assume. This list is written with GMs in mind, but can help players work through issues with their GM. The token is on the VTT It is assigned to the character The player has control over the character The token is on the Token/Object layer It is not blocked off by DL lines from seeing the immediate surroundings Make sure the player is looking at their token's immediate area. Shift-Click and hold on the token to pull the player's view to that area. If Fog of War is being used, that the area the token is in has been cleared The player has not been Split from the Party (Check the Help Center if this is unfamiliar) If Dynamic Lighting of any kind is being used: The token has sight turned on The token has a light source, or Nightvision (UDL) or personal light (LDL) In UDL it may be necessary to move the token one square to get everything working, or in extreme cases, refresh the (user's) page. Can you see a rotating cube in this URL ? If not, the browser needs to be WebGL compatible (99%+ are).
I'm new to all of this, but something that I'm doing is to assign an NPC token to myself and then launch the game as a player.  This way I can see exactly what a PC would see from that spot on the map.  And that way you don't need to remember to log in with a dummy account and then log out and log back in and back and forth. Again, I'm new, so take this with however many grains of salt you feel necessary.  And as always, your mileage may vary!

Use two separate browsers. Example: Firefox and Chrome. Chrome is my main account, Firefox is my dummy account.  And before you say, but I don't want the other browser, you should always be able to use either when using Roll20. Sometimes one browser has issues the other one doesn't. (Such as the recent Chrome issues that Chrome created a few months back that affect some folks.)

Log into a dummy account in a second, private browsing window. This keeps the sessions clean, and allows you simultaneous log-ins, granting immediate test-and-response.

There is nothing wrong with that method.  While the dummy account certainly works, and I have one myself, I find myself rarely using it.  To be honest, once you settle on a certain way you set things up, you may find that you rarely test anything.  That is where I am, and find that simply logging in as a player with permission to use a particular token is enough for me the vast majority of the time when I do actually decide I need to test some lighting setup.  Edit: I should say that I do agree with Gauss that you should have both supported browsers installed.  That is useful as a debugging tool if nothing else.

I usually only use a dummy account for complex lighting setups, or if Roll20 has recently updated a feature and I need to verify the player experience. I had a surprise ruined last game because I forgot that tokens on the GM layer still show their nameplates if they are controlled by users. (I use renamed and re-faced Commoners for a lot of NPCs, and usually allow All Players to have control, so they can ove them out of the way if need be.)
