Hello, players. I am an experienced DM with a few completed campaigns played here in Roll20 for paying clients a few years ago. I am looking to do this again so I am looking for new groups. I can run one-shots and campaigns. We can talk about what kind of game you wish to play with your friends, and we can either find an existing module that fits your expectations or use some of my homebrew content. Even if we run a module, though, I always add things of my own to make the adventure more interesting. All my games have an open-world vibe to them. I need to give you a WARNING about this: don't go messing around with NPCs you don't wish to deal with later. Because you might be all in to investigate the map you found to a legendary mine, I understand, but the hag whose hut you burned to the ground a few sessions ago will not forget it and just let it go. So when she comes down terrorizing the city the group can just walk away from the townsfolk and go adventuring, just don't get all upset feeling like I am railroading the group into dealing with the hag. You going away will not stop her from getting revenge on the people who housed and fed you, and watch out for yourselves because she will go after you too. I keep my players responsible for their actions, it is not for personal judgment, it is just the way I like to run my games. For me, RPG games are like dice-reading games. Let's say you ask if your character knows about this NPC, Agragdamel. So you roll for History . I will not have a fixed DC for this test, I will see what it comes and judge how much information you have about it, such as in the table I will do for you now below: 9 or lower You know nothing about this NPC 10-14 You have heard about this person. He is some sort of powerful wizard who lives in the Sword Mountains. 15-18 Agragdamel is a powerful wizard living in the Sword Mountains. He is also known for his skill in battle. He had supported many towns from the north of the Sword Coast against the rampaging Red Dragons of the north in their moments of fury. You would know in which cities to start looking for him, if necessary; as well as the right people to ask about him. 19-21 In addition to all the previous information, you have a good idea of where to look for him in the sword mountains. You have heard tales of where his tower is located, as well as some reference points to look for. 22-25 You know Agragdamel's reputation well, where his tower is located in the Sword Mountain, and that he actually is an Ancient Silver Dragon which sculpted his layer in clouds around a huge wizard tower in the coldest peaks of the Sword Mountain. He likes to live as a human in the northern cities of the Sword Coast, ready to defend them from any attack of the red dragons from the northern mountains. 26+ Dude, it's old pal Agragdamel. You have a history together. Ancient Silver Dragon likes to polymorph into a human to party and fight some red dragons together when they show up. I apply this logic to many dice rolls. I also decide if a person has an advantage or disadvantage in a test based on the character sheet. If you are looking for a specific herb to heal the cleric who is unconscious after being poisoned and you are not proficient in nature, you will have a disadvantage. People that are not proficient in nature are supposed to have a hard time finding specific herbs. I also tend to use passive stats very often. If a character has 18+ passive Insight (WIS), I will give him hints of things they might notice when others are talking. They might notice hesitation or a microexpression. If a player has a high passive Perception (WIS) I will describe the environments in more detail. One more interesting thing I do with dice rolls, is, for example, if you wish to do something that is unwise for your profession like if the rogue wishes to unlock a door without checking for it first, I will ask you to make a Wisdom saving through first. Depending on the saving though result, I might give you some information as if I were the voice of your consciousness. I understand that I have all the information as the DM, you do not have it as a player, and even so, you are not roleplaying yourself in the game, but your character, who might be an experienced 9th-level rogue. Following this logic, a wizard with 10+ proficiency in arcana, for example, might feel magic in an environment or around an item and I will give them a heads up to investigate. Payment I would love to receive $15 (US dollars) per player per session or $200/month per group if you have a group already. Either way, you can propose to tip me each session and that will be ok as well. My goal with this is to get some extra money so I can buy a tattoo machine :] This game encourages payment to the Game Master at a rate of $15/session/player or $200/month/group, or tipping, at the player's preference - to be agreed with the DM upon hiring -, via Paypal or Patreon. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. DM me to get my discord contact information if you are interested.
