Help with new Vampire the Requiem Character Sheet

Hello, I'm brand new to Roll20, just joined last week with the intention to play Vampire the Requiem. After reviewing the available character sheets, I decided I would make my own using a base format from the V20 sheet by Twibbit (Sorry, not sure the exact protocol for when using someone elses work as a base, Knew I should at least say so, if I need to alert them or something, please let me know). I've made alot of progress for making in tailor made to nWoD and VtR rules and setup. Though having some trouble hammering out a few details. Hoping you all can help make it better. 1. I wanted a health attribute that showed on the character sheet and could be used on the token. I think I pretty much figure how I want it, using decimal points to represent types of damage (bashing .33)(Leathal .66)(Aggrivated 1). I use this along with drop down menus (Made by Twibbit) to turn damage into number equivalents which then can show a see able bar on tokens. It's not perfect but with nWoD health system it was the closest I can get. Using a damage up system with a max health attribute, damage goes up till you hit max health and die. My problem is that on the token when you click it, to view number stats. It gives results with very long decimal results like 2.340000000345. How can I remove the excess decimals? I just need 2 places after or even just one if that's all I can get. I use several value calculations to show different points of data on the sheet and represent the one data for token damage. I also had to break up all the data into damage groups because it wouldn't calculate otherwise. Deffense in VTR should be the lowest of either Dexterity or Wits, how can I put this in a value equation? For now I decided to rule break a bit and just make it Dexterity+Wits/2 and gets me a close result. I plan on setting up about 4 sections (Maybe more) of player preset dice pools. Having all the prelisted attributes and skills there. Along with the ability to name them so you don't forget. So far, it looks pretty set. Though I wish there was a way to have a player set a predefined name for the pool so it shows that pool name when rolled. So if someone set up a "Gun Shot" pool, selecting their Firearms+Dexterity rolls, when rolled, it would say "Gun Shot" along with the roll. I also included Merits section and Disciplines section. I know this is likely not possible with the resources available but thought I'd ask. For Experience on the sheet, would be great if I had a section that auto-calculated what was spent. IE: You put a new third dot into Strength and it knows you spent 5exp on that skill (Attrib=5xp per dot). If you put a new dot into Firearms then it knows you spent 3xp (New skills 3xp per dot). Probably not possible but if someone could enlighten me great. Also, here is my entire project for anyone interested, I just started a couple days ago. My goal is to make AS MUCH of it auto calculate as possible. Also trying to add in as many dice roll opportunities as I can. Try floor(value * 100) / 100 for two decimal points., where value is the total you're trying to display (remember to enclose that in parentheses). (((@{dexterity} + @{wits}) - abs(@{dexterity} - @{wits})) / 2) does what you want (max instead of min can be achieved with +abs instead of -abs). See CSS Wizardry value='@{roll1}\n/r {(@{DPAtt1}...etc will show whatever they put in the text field. No, not reasonably feasible, especially considering the dots you get for free at character creation (and I'm not sure if Requiem uses Bonus Points like oWoD and WW's other game lines, but that complicates the matter further). If experience points were indeed the only thing spent to get dots, then it might be doable... with a ridiculously long polynomial interpolation equation. (I'm talking somewhere in the neighborhood of x^40 through x^0.)
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar -tips my hat- Wasn't even expecting an answer for like a day or two. Also spent hours on google trying to find a database of equation models so thank you for that as well. Ok, couple more questions in general for anyone out there. 1. I noticed my sheet can be a bit slow when scrolling. I assume this is because of the calculations. Any tips on making it faster without taking them out? Or did I likely miss something somewhere that is causing it? At what point should I stop putting stuff in? I haven't really tested out other sheets before so not sure if mine is getting kinda beefy or if I can just keep tossing on rolls, inputs and values without worry. 2. This isn't about the sheet exactly. What recommendations are there as far as inventory control? nWoD keeps a pretty simple item index of weapons and basic armors, though I think I'll expand this. My three options are: Handouts (seems less affective since it only uses images primarily) the character Bio page with a table system or integrating it into the CSheet. If I did the Csheet I would either use Repeating Sections which gives me less control over the values or have preset sections so players could input the values of the item and have it update in the sheet. Though it falls back to my first question of how much is too much in a sheet? Or if anyone has any better suggestions? 3. Was searching around the forums for info on different roll values I can use. For example could I put in a Difficulty for rolls that doesn't let the player choose? That's my main question, though I'd love to see a more detailed explanation of many of the options available. Sorry in advanced if any of this is in an obviouse spot and I missed it.

Not sure. Your sheet is way smaller than the D&D sheets, and people use those with no problem. However, some people do experience some lag on the D&D sheets, so it might be an issue with each user's computer. How's yours? I've only played oWoD (and Exalted and Scion), but in the Storytelling system, beyond your weapon(s) and armor, "inventory" is a bit nebulous. I would recommend either a single textarea, a repeating section where the player can list and describe their inventory, or ignore the problem altogether: if the item is important enough to list, then the player obviously has it available (for example, a MacGuffin). If the item isn't important enough to list, then the player has it available anyway (so long as it's reasonable; no depleted uranium in your pocket unless you're playing DFRPG). =) Do you mean having roll buttons along the lines of "/r @{dice-pool}&gt; difficulty " where difficulty is variable? You can use roll queries in your roll buttons: "/r @{dice-pool}&gt;?{Difficulty|7}"
My comp is pretty intense, I use it for high performance gaming. Could be my browser then, may need to remove add-ons and such. Either way good to know, I'll keep adding stuff and fix my comp later. Hmm, thank you for the input, likely go with a simple text area then to account for other random items a player may find like keys and such. Oh...duh, I read it but didn't understand it. I was using something like @{dice-pool}&gt;?{Difficulty|7}"...never hit to me that I could just use @{dice-pool}&gt;7
