Regarding the Automated Dice Roller on the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Edition Sheet...

I'm sure it rolls a 1D20 for each stat giving my characters a chance to have a stat of 20 before racial bonus's and penalties are applied. I'm not playing Dark Sun with these sheets. Although, I do play Dark Sun and have been for the last few years. I am now trying to run a Slaine Role-Playing-Game of Celtic-Heroes. Where I am sure if your creating a human, you just roll your dice without applying any of those modifiers afterwards.  Outside of Darksun, I would like to know if this has become the norm, to have stats that can go as high as 20 with a simple dice roll in D&D 3.5 edition? Otherwise, I would like to be shown how to alter the dice rolls, so that character sheet is rolling either 3D6  or 4D6, while keeping the highest 3. If that is possible without going into the console or is that what it takes? I don't entirely understand that stuff yet. Even though, I have copied and pasted a few macros in my time.

I don't know the sheet, but if it';s a 3.5e D&D sheet, it seems unlikely to be rolling d20. 3d6 or 4d6keep3 seems more likely. Do you have any rolls getting above 18? What are using to roll the stats? Is this a feature built into the sheet or a separate macro supplied by the GM?
I think I have the solution, and I have to admit, I made a mistake. As it turns out those dice rollers are for making stat checks and not rolling stats....

Thanks for the update - and that explains it :)
yeah, I found out those were not stat rolls, but ability saves for each stats, I beleive....
