My name is Liam, I’m 26, he/him, and I hope to be your DM!  I have over 10 years experience as a DM running dozens of homebrew campaigns and one-shots, as well as published campaign books, in both D&D and a plethora of other systems (Call of Cthulhu, Monster of the Week, Stars Without Number and more).  I have about 8 years experience using Roll20. As far as my playstyle, I am a story-trumps-rules kind of DM, the rule of cool is my bread and butter. My games tend to be very roleplay focused, with combat used sparingly. I also do funny little voices sometimes, and sometimes not funny ones too.  I maintain a friendly, inclusive, and safe environment for my players. It is after all a game, and we’re all here to have fun.   Why Witchlight? Witchlight is a lighthearted journey through first a visiting carnival of extraplanar delights and then a whimsical and strange fairytale world straight out of a child’s book of fables, with a vibrant and varied cast of colorful, interesting characters from talking inanimate objects to some of the most bizarre creatures the Feywild has to offer. A story about reclaiming lost childhood, and the ever relentless passage of time.   This campaign book is designed in such a way that there is not a single combat that is mandatory to advance the plot, there are always opportunities for daring escapes, flashy distractions, or diplomacy to move along through the challenges and obstacles! However, should you find no other alternative you will find these fights will be for your very lives ( they are extremely challenging ).  This is a deeply chill campaign, there are no looming eminent evils that you have to rush to stop, and there isn't a constant threat of mortal danger. The plot is a journey through the Feywild, set at the player’s leisure, with some lofty goals to accomplish along the way to provide a degree of direction. On your journey there will be puzzles and mysteries to solve, a strange economy of fey gifts and favors to navigate, and friends to make along the way. It’s good vibes from start to finish, if that sounds like your scene read on!  Character Creation There will be a free session zero where we’ll discuss and create characters, talk about the campaign, and go over any questions you might have.  The campaign will take players from levels 1-8. Any 5e books or supplements are ok with me, official or homebrew, but I do reserve the right to veto a character for obvious power-gaming or inappropriate content.  I would highly advise that players prioritize their skills and utilities over combat abilities and spells, as they may find little opportunity to use them.   There are three canon starts for a Witchlight PC, but I am open to homebrewing something with you if you have something else in mind!  Contact, Payment, and Conduct Regular weekly time and day TBD once the party starts filling out, but I’m currently widely available, 11am-8pm PST Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun. Occasional reschedules and cancelations are expected as life does tend to happen, with the understanding that frequent missed sessions may require a player to be booted. Sessions themselves will be $10 per person , and will need to be received by Venmo before the scheduled session start. Sessions will last about 3 hours. To play you must be 18 or older, have a Roll20 and Discord account, and a working microphone or headset.  As far as conduct at the table, there will be zero tolerance for racism, sexism, or any other -isms at my table. If you can’t be kind and respectful of others, you’re out. If you’re available and interested you can PM me on Roll20 with your:  Name and Age.  Day and Time Availability/Preference.  Experience Level in tabletop and D&D, and preferred playstyle (combat-heavy, roleplay-heavy, dungeon-crawler, etc.).  Anything that interests or excites you about this campaign in particular is also appreciated, and feel free to ask questions, or add anything else that might be relevant.  Age might seem weird to add, but I'm trying to hopefully cultivate a group of similarly aged players, who will have good table chemistry. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10, accepted via Venmo and to be collected weekly, prior to session start. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
