D&D 3.5 BASIC - For newbies

I will expect everyone who wants to play to be there on time... so atleast a few minutes before 20:00 (8pm) GMT+2 I would also like everyone who intends to come to check this thread once in a while and post a reply with "Im coming" or something.
Hi I'm very very new to tabletop RPGs... And would like the experience... If a spot clears, I'd be happy to have it, so msg me if you like. thanks
I'll be there tengu :)
I will not contact everyone in a private message , all contact will be here to make it easier so if people want to play, they will just have to follow the thread. Great Wedge! Thanks.
Hello , I wanted to ask if there is still room in the group becauseI wanted to ttry D&D out.
I'm going to be there.
I'll be there.
Hi if there is still room id like to join, never played d&d before If there isent room then i guess id like to join the next one if there is one
goodie! We are currently full, but keep an eye on this thread around 20:00 GMT+2 may be people who dropped out.
Actually, I'm out. So there is a spot free.
too bad to hear thomas. take care :)
One hour and 15 minutes left now! Be ready! ^^
so if Thomas isn't there can i have his sport pretty please :D
We will she how many shows up at 20:00 ^^ I can only run max 6 people through the adventure. If we have too many, we will accept people in the order they applied interest in this thread... I think that would be most fair.
Hi, Literally only just heard about roll20, and joined from a link on rpggeek. Been looking for a way to get into tabletop RPG's but am in a wasteland of imagination in the north of England and my 2 kids are too young to force into it yet so would be delighted to get a chance to participate. Dan
Hey Daniel! Welcome to roll20! This group is currently (from what I know) full, but if you want you can stick around and see if there are any spots open. This week we will mostly work on creating our characters and learning our basics, and I am unsure If we have time to start the adventure. However, this is a kind of intro meant to teach the game to new players, it may be boring or slow if you have played before.
I had the infamous red box when I was about 10 or 12 (25-years ago now!) and tried my best to interest my friends in a bit of dungeon crawling but nothing more than that. I'll keep checking this board and see how it goes, best of luck with the group!
Infamous? I loved the old red box :) Goodie. The game will be held here https://app.roll20.net/join/61331/ivg29Q
I'm in your room right nooooow
We have 3 spots open and were starting character creation now.
Huzzah
I am working on your character sheets now. I am sorry for my confused character creation with you guys, but it seems that the makers of the basic book forgot to add some parts... so it is pretty messed up at some points. Anyways, Im working on your character sheets and will send them to your e-mail (the email I got your picture and character background from) when done. Also, I will start kicking all players who arnt part of the group from our game group thingy.
Sorry, but I gotta drop out.
would love a basic starter game to learn exactly how roll20 works, used to play D&D weekly until just after 3E launched. I want my "tabletop" fix again!
This group is more an intro for beginners.
New thread in: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/61331/basic-d-and-d-newbies Players, please read.
I have never really played but would love to start
Any open spots?
We are basically full... But I might be able to squeeze in another adventurer, max 2. This is a newbie intro though... Will only make this exception for someone who has never played before. Tell me if you want to make a character.
I think i'm late, I'm a total newbie and would like to learn how to play, how this website works, etc. Would be awesome if I could play.
I would love to join in still very new to D&D
To all that are asking to join: 1: Remember this is meant to be pretty basic, to teach people with little to no experience how to play. 2: Please be serious (as in if you post that you want to join, and the GM accepts you, show up, and hopefully for more then one game) -Thanks
Oh and BTW could the rest of the people that were in the last game please post something, so that we know if you plan on playing again. -Thanks
i have very little experience and would like to join. I am available weekends all day and weeknights after 8:30PM GMT -4
We are playing around 20:00 GMT +2 so I think our timezones wouldnt match very well. Michael and other players who participated in the first character creation session. I have added some threads in the group... casters, be sure to pick your spells with care *evil laughter* No, but seriously, take a look and choose what spells you want for your characters. There are some differences between the normal 3.5 spell descriptions and the basic game spell descriptions, in such a case we go by the basic game one for now. Natayo/OP-god: You get to pick 4 lv 0 spells and 2 lv 1 spells. Peregrim/Wedge: You have all cantrips (lv 0 spells) in your spellbook and get to add 3 + your intelligence bonus (3) spells to your spellbook from the lv 1 list. However, you have to choose wich spells to prepare for the day... you have 3 lv 0 "slots" and 2 lv 1 "slots". 1 slot = 1 use... you can prepare the same spell several times, but each time will use one slot of the spells lv. New players who want to join! This is a newbie intro, made to teach the game. We are playing around 20:00 GMT+2. We might be able to squeeze in one or two complete newbies (basically never played before). If you want to play, write to me and keep and eye on the thread (follow it). If you write to me, I can help you make a character and you will be put in a "backup-pool". On game day, the ones who have been invited by me as "backup - pool" will be allowed to play based on who shows up first at the set time on the game day. Happy adventuring!
Hi! Myself & a friend would like to join, if there's 2 spaces left for newbies (or for back-ups). 20:00 GMT+2 is 2pm cst for us; that's fine but what day/s do you play? Hope to hear from you. Thanks!
Hi Jennifer. Were considering playing this wednesday, not sure if we will continue playing on that day or switch back to fridays. If (s)he wants a spot (s)he will have to post interest here as well though. Have you ever played before?
Hi. I'm the other player. No, I've never played before but looking to start playing regularly.
It seems im late for this game too. However, i'm a total noob and im very interested in elarning how to play, if anyone could help create my character i would greatly appreciate it. And maybe i could join you guys for the next game after this? let me know..
I can help you guys make characters and then well see if there is space when the next game is. But this is the BASIC GAME rules, so it differs abit from normal 3.5.
Tengu, I'm sorry- I'll still be at work when y'all start, but if y'all have a slightly later or weekend group, I could join. Hayden can be online to play at that time. I used to play a bit of D&D in high school (over 10 years ago). Should I still join the group even if I probably won't be playing? I could still learn how to make a character & listen in on y'all for about an hour, if people do that.
Id prefer if we only have players there, dont like having and audience not playing. But you can join and make a character, we still havent set a date and time for the game as half the players havent answeared... but its leaning towards 20.00 GMT +2 Wednesday.
We m ay have a spot or two open tomorrow Wednesday 1/5 20:00 GMT +2 If you want to join, post interest here, follow the thread and keep your eyes peeled on wednesday. If you are not familliar with the GMT timezone reference (wich is the same as UTC) you can use the Worldclock timeconverter or find a timezone you are more familliar with here (GMT+2 being the same as "Stockholm - Sweden"): Stockholm (Sweden) wednesday 1 may 2013, 20:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours Sydney (Australia - New South Wales) thursday 2 may 2013, 04:00:00 AEST UTC+10 hours Ottawa (Canada - Ontario) wednesday 1 may 2013, 14:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours Chicago (U.S.A. - Illinois) wednesday 1 may 2013, 13:00:00 CDT UTC-5 hours New York (U.S.A. - New York) wednesday 1 may 2013, 14:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours Las Vegas (U.S.A. - Nevada) wednesday 1 may 2013, 11:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours Fairbanks (U.S.A. - Alaska) wednesday 1 may 2013, 10:00:00 AKDT UTC-8 hours Detroit (U.S.A. - Michigan) wednesday 1 may 2013, 14:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours Moscow (Russia) wednesday 1 may 2013, 22:00:00 MSK UTC+4 hours From Worldclock timeconverter If you want to join, remember that this is a game meant to teach players who have never played pen and paper roleplaying games before. Completely new players without any experience whatsoever are wanted.
I'm interested and completely inexperienced. I'm available weekdays (including this Wednesday), anytime as long as suitable notice is given to compensate for schedule modifications. Further Edits: My timezone is GMT -7 (if pertinent). .
