grouped tokens as combined player token

It came up that one of my players would prefer head token X with body token Y. I can set either of these as the player's token, but when I group the two, I am unable to access the token pop-up. How would I use a grouped set of tokens as a single player token? To reproduce this effect, take any two tokens, check out their token pop-ups, then group them, and see how you can't get token pop-ups.

Generally, you download them, use whatever image editor you like to put the pieces together into one image, and then upload that single image to use as a token.

Interestingly, the behavior of groups seems to have changed. It use to be that if you clicked on a selected group and dragged as part of that same click, you would only move the clicked on token. To move them as a group required a separate click drag. It now appears that groups have been "fixed" so as to behave in a more intuitive manner. It actually makes the process less versatile, but probably for the better. It was a difficult thing to accustom oneself to. You can still select a single token in limited circumstances. If the group is composed of exactly two members, you can click on the group and shift click on the unwanted one. This will allow you to use the token actions of the still selected member, but you cannot move it independently, nor will the radial menu appear. And this trick will not work if there are three or more members to the group.
