"Secret Rolls" - having players roll but not see the results themselves

Score + 33
I was thinking it would be cool if I could have my players make ability checks, but not know what they rolled.  So, I could have the rogue check for traps, for instance, and they might roll a 1.  If they know they rolled a 1, they know not to trust what I say, but if they don't know what they rolled, then I can tell them confidently they didn't find a trap (same as if they'd rolled an 18), and they'll be none the wiser.  I was thinking the roll result is tagged with the player who rolled it, and the date/timestamp.  That way, I can show them the roll later.  They still controlled their own destiny that way.  Has this been discussed?

This suggestion keeps cropping up. I would really love to have this option.

Doable with a pro subscription, at least for skillchecks. I had one that rolled twice for every skill and I'd explain how things went based on the roll, unless it was a nat20 or nat1, then I'd give them the news and ask them what everyone else sees who happens to be looking at them. I do wish there were easier ways to incorporate this into your game, but good roleplayers will make it unnecessary. If you find some, let me know! ;)
I don't know about other systems, but in PF1, a natural 1 doesn't mean an automatic fail, especially with high enough bonuses. When a player rolls to find traps, I always tell them, "You find no traps," whether it's a failure to find a trap or no trap to find. They must decide if they trust their roll or risk setting off a trap.

This is a nice idea that should be implemented. Both these ideas have my vote.
