Dixit

I've grown very fond of this game during the past few months. I moved towns a few days ago, and I wanted to continue playing it with my old crew, and maybe some new people who would like to try it out. I saw that roll20 supports custom decks, and I started making a Dixit deck. I have a few questions concerning the site's automation options for the game, and some other possible ways to enhance the experience for the players. First off, is there a way to form a new, smaller deck out of cards from the players' hands and have it shuffled? Second. Is there a secret vote command for the players, so they can vote on the revealed cards, and have it shown on GMs command? Third. Is there a way to automatically keep track of the scores? I mean, I know that I could have it in the background as text boxes, but is there a simpler way?

Not sure, but I don't think so. We just got an update to card decks, but I haven't checked it out much. You could whisper votes to the GM ( /w gm message ), although if the GM is also playing, that could be problematic. No. The general answer for "automation" is "use the API." The API is a feature available in campaigns whose owner has a Mentor subscription. ($10/mo or $100/yr). The API could definitely handle #2 and #3, although I don't think it could handle #1.

Is there a way to make the GM role switch between players in turn order, so that the /w gm vote would always go to the storyteller?
3. Technically you could probably use the ${tracker} and the turn order to keep track of your score. /roll 1 &{tracker}. Will set your turn order to 1 /roll 1 &{tracker:+}. Will add 1 to your turn order /roll 1 &{tracker:-} will subtract 1 from your turn order I don't know the game system to understand how automatic is automatic to you, but you could give everyone macros for each one of these and a token to represent themselves.

No, but you could simply whisper to whoever the current storyteller is: /w Pavle sends a message to you, /w Brian sends a message to me, /w Mark sends a message to Mark G., etc.

You could use a separate deck of numbered (or otherwise coded) cards for voting. Hold shift while you play the vote card to play it face down (or you can set the deck to play cards face-down by default), then turn all the cards over from the right-click menu once they've all been played. Edit: Come to think of it, isn't this how Dixit works in the box (a separate deck of numbered cards for voting)? If the tracker solution doesn't work for you, you could also give each player a token and use one of the bars to track score. However, the tracker has the advantage of keeping track of who's "it" for the round. I think the shuffling of played cards might have to be manual, but it'd probably be pretty hard for the person who's "it" to determine who played which card if people are random about where on the table they play their cards (or if everyone plays their cards overtop of the others). Throw in a bit of a "send to front/back" shell game and you'll probably be fine.

Great idea :D For the shuffling, players can hand their cards to the tokens held by the storyteller, and he/she could then shuffle them manually and play them face-down on the table in any order he/she wants
