Okay, can you specify what steps you're taking currently? I just tested it and the measurement seems to be sticking around properly if I: 1) Have the Linger setting specified in the toolbox 2) Don't have it specified, but hold down Shift while I release the left mouse button while measuring. You should also be able to press the X key if a measurement disappears to bring it back and it will be there until you dismiss it or do another measurement. Let me know if any of that helps clarify, otherwise if one of those things isn't working let us know and we'll investigate further.
