Players will join an arena game. Characters will arrive on a start page and be given a choice of named battles. Once selected the party will be sent to a map to defeat creatures. All Players will start at level 2. There are pre-generated characters if you don't feel comfortable making a character or if you just want to jump in and do some fighting. Sessions will run for 2 to 2 and a half hours depending on where players are when they finish their last fight of the day. There will be a 5-10 minute break at roughly the halfway mark so everyone can get a bathroom break or a snack. The ruleset for Gauntlet games is Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition. Only banned spells are Druid summoning spells. This is in the interest of fairplay and the game running smoothly. Other than that come up with what you want-try crazy builds! All builds and classes are viable. In D&D a natural 20(or a natural 1 ) can as easily determine the outcome of a combat as effectively as the most min/max build. So have fun with character creation and try new builds/classes. That being said keep in mind that 'social' builds will not be optimal. Aim for combat effectiveness with your character. The best group size for these encounters is 4-6 players. If a team is short players that week you can choose to add and play premade characters to fill out the party. We want this to be a welcoming and fun environment. So be kind to each other and me. Lets keep discussions civil. Most important rule: Each player plays their character on their turn! Do not give advice to other players on their turn. Let them decide the actions of their own character. Keep a measured approach to the games. There will be player deaths but it's not permanent. We aim for lively and fun and welcoming play groups. Reply in thread for discord link. Games are played Wednesday at 3pm est, Thursday at noon EST. And Saturday at noon EST. A Sunday game at noon EST is also possible if we get enough players.
