Dragging shape/darkness to edge of map

Is there any way to allow dragging to the edge of the map? For example, when I'm adding permanent darkness to a map, I can't actually do it to the edge, because if I let go of the shape while the cursor is even a pixel outside the map edge, it doesn't apply. It's super frustrating as it happens with drawing and polygons too, so from the player's perspective, there are several pixel wide visible lines on the edge of the map.
Hold down shift and it will automatically expand to fill whole grid squares.

This is just one of those weird things that Roll20 hasn't fixed since 2012. You'll have to live with it.

Can you turn the grid on to set the darkness, then turn the grid back off?

In some VERY  unscientific testing I have learned something maybe.  Disclaimer: I literally only played with it for a few minutes. If you drag down  from anywhere (pretty much, I think) on the map, you can go right off the edge and still make the selection.  If you drag up  from anywhere on the map and don't let go while you're still on the map, you lose your selection. So, to sum it up:  in the words of John Hiatt, Drive South .   [edit:  South EAST.  It looks like, with further fiddling, it only works dragging down and leaving from either the right side or the bottom of the map.]

I did that in my testing from the response from Jarren, but in this case, it's a radius polygon exploring thing, so it works to a degree, but still has the same problem spreading the visibility to the edges. I think it'll work for 99% of cases, but I'm doing a weird driving exploration thing lol.
