[LFP] [5e] [18+] [CDT] Invasion of the Onyx

I dream...I dream of a different world. A world where the old gods meet the new. Where the stars fall, and the darkness comes to stake its claim. Will you falter in the face of it? Or will you make a stand? --- Invasion of the Onyx is a game using D&D 5E. I'm looking for 4 players of any experience level, but be warned that I myself am a relatively inexperienced Dungeon Master, though I'm a published Fantasy author and I hope to bring my passion for storytelling to D&D. Characters will start at level 3 and we will be using the point buy system (27 pt). Characters will also gain one feat for free. Multiclassing is allowed, but only two classes. I have some house rules in effect including some bans, so please be aware of that - I'll make a post sharing the details. I hope to have a good balance of combat, roleplaying, and exploration. I'm flexible on when we'll play, but probably Tuesday or Wednesday in the afternoon CDT.
Hello!! If you're still looking for players I'd be more than happy to fill the role! I'm in my early twenties and while I have minimal first hand experience in playing D&D, I have a love for the game and consume a lot of content centered around it. Podcasts like NADDPOD, Worlds Beyond Number, Dark Dice, etc. have inspired me quite a bit. I have a decent grasp of the mechanics and system, but I'm inexperienced in applying it so a forewarning if my application is to be accepted I may have the occasional question or misunderstanding.  A few things: I love story and character focused games. I am an artist and often will draw my PC as a reference. I play mostly LGBTQ+ characters. My time zone is MDT. I am happy to communicate with the DM and other players to create a character that supports the plot or balance to the party. I am an aspiring DM and writer myself. I'm VERY new to Roll20, but I am generally pretty capable in learning new platforms. I'd love to learn more about the campaign you have in mind!! I tend to make my characters based on the setting and after I find out details for better immersion.
Hello there! If you're still looking for players I'd like express my interest. I'm 28 and have been playing ttrpgs for about 5 years and what got me into it was the adventure zone. I love making interesting characters and role-playing the most. I'm in it for an interesting story with creative people. I've tried to run my own campaigns - both writing and creating maps - a few times to a gallery of.. mostly uninterested people and it's been hard to pick back up, so I'm trying to get back into just being a regular player now. My time zone is EST and can be pretty flexible with my time at the moment. I'd love to get to know more about you and your campaign if you'd choose to have me!
Hi, all. I've been playing 5e since it came out, and 4e before that, and a few others besides. I was just thinking I could do with a new game, and I've got a stack of character ideas I still need to try out. I'm free on Wednesdays, but I should probably mention that I'm in California and the earliest I can get home from work is about 5 PM PST. If that's not a problem, though, then I'd love to join in. I did recently realize that I've never once tried the eldritch knight fighter or the life cleric, so I can make do as either the healer or the tanky frontliner, but I'm cool with playing whatever the party needs. A bit about me: I'm into worldbuilding in a big way--usually when I'm writing a backstory, I come up with a bunch of NPCs, locations and plot hooks to go along with it, because I think it's cool when that stuff gets threaded into the Big Overarching Plot (seriously, I once came up with two whole planets for a Star Wars game). I generally favor story-focused games with players that take the plot seriously, just because it's easier to care about combat when you're invested in what's going on, IMHO (which is not to say that I'm not up for a good fight, but some of my favorite gaming sessions have been the ones that were super RP-centric). Also, I generally play PCs who are at least trying to be the good guys. That's just how I do. So yeah. Thanks in advance, either way. ;-)
Hi, Ecto!  I'd be interested in joining your game, and Tues/Weds afternoons work great for me.  My knowledge of D&D currently comes from playing WoW, listening to NADDPOD, and reading Ursula Vernon's tweets about her group's wild adventures over the past few years.  :D  I think it's awesome that you're bringing a fantasy author's approach to GMing!
Hi there. I would love to join your game. Afternoons Tuesdays and Wednesdays work perfectly for me. A little bit about myself: I am 21 and for the last 5 years my obsession has been DnD and more specifically 5e. I have a lot of experience with the game both from a player's perspective and a DM's. I also have intimate knowledge of Roll20 as I have used it a lot as a player and a DM. I love making characters and I love even more playing them. Rn I really would love to make a hex warlock cuz I love the idea of having a "living weapon" patron.
Hi everyone. We are currently full, but thank you for your interest.
